The Camlok TKG VHS crane fork is the self-balancing variant of the TKG range — an automatic balance mechanism finds the load's centre of gravity as soon as weight is applied, eliminating the manual adjustment step required on the VH (manual) variant. Available in four capacity ratings from 1000 kg up to 5000 kg WLL, the VHS is the faster, more operator-friendly option for sites handling varied loads where re-balancing for each lift would slow operations.

Suitable Applications

Pallet and crate handling by overhead crane in busy warehouses, ports, fabrication shops, and material handling operations where load weights vary lift-to-lift. Particularly suited to mixed-product warehouses, distribution centres, and any site where the time saved by automatic balancing outweighs the higher purchase cost relative to the manual VH variant.

How to Use Safely

1. Inspect the crane fork before each use. Check the body, tines, self-balance mechanism, and lifting eye for damage, wear or corrosion. Do not use if defects are found.
2. Verify the load weight does not exceed the rated WLL of the selected model.
3. Adjust the tine spacing to match the pallet or crate width. Confirm the tines are locked in position before continuing.
4. Engage the tines fully under the pallet, ensuring the load is fully seated against the fork back-stop.
5. Attach the crane hook (with shackle if required) to the lifting eye. Confirm hook safety latch is engaged.
6. Lift slowly. The self-balancing mechanism will adjust the lifting eye to find the load's centre of gravity as weight is applied.
7. Confirm the load is hanging level at a low test-lift height before proceeding to full lift.
8. Proceed with the lift, maintaining slow controlled motion. Do not allow the load to swing or rotate uncontrolled.
9. After landing, fully relieve load on the tines before disengaging from the pallet.

Inspection and Maintenance

A visual inspection is required before every use. A thorough examination by a qualified engineer is required at least every 6 months in regular use, in accordance with LOLER 1998. Records of examination must be kept. Refer to the manufacturer's manual for detailed inspection and maintenance instructions, derating factors for use, and replacement schedules for any wearing components.
