Compact crane and forklift lifting cage sized for a single standard pallet — gate or ramp access, 1500kg WLL

The Conquip Compact Goods Cage is a smaller-footprint craneable lifting cage designed for moving lighter palletised loads between site levels. The internal area accommodates a standard 1200 x 1000 mm pallet, and the cage is offered with either a gas-assisted ramp or a secure gate to suit how the cage will be loaded.

Suitable Applications

The Compact Goods Cage suits projects where loads are lighter and pallet-sized, such as housebuilding finishing trades, refurbishment, fit-out and small-component handling on infrastructure projects. The compact footprint is also useful where storage space is limited or where the destination floor area cannot accommodate the larger 2.5 m Goods Cage. The gas-assisted ramp is particularly helpful where the cage is loaded at ground level by pallet truck before craning into position.

How to Use

1. Position the cage on a stable, level surface at the loading point.
2. Open the gate, or release and fold down the gas-assisted ramp depending on the variant in use.
3. Roll the pallet into the cage using a pallet truck (ramp variant) or load by forklift, telehandler or crane (gate variant).
4. Close and secure the gate, or fold up and latch the ramp, before any lift.
5. Attach a four-leg chain sling to the four inset lifting points using suitably rated shackles.
6. The slinger and banksman confirm the lift is balanced and signal the crane operator.
7. The crane lifts the loaded cage to the destination level, where the slinger guides it into position.
8. Lower the cage onto a stable surface, disconnect the chain sling, and unload.

Warning: Always close gates and latch ramps before lifting. Never exceed the 1500 kg working load limit. Inspect lifting points and the cage structure before each shift.

• Inspect lifting points, chain slings, shackles and the cage structure before each shift.
• The crane operator, slinger and banksman must hold appropriate certification.
• Use a four-leg chain sling rated above the loaded weight, attached to all four lifting points.
• Confirm crane capacity at the lift radius is suitable for the loaded cage.
• Keep ground personnel clear of the lift path during transport.
• Do not exceed the 1500 kg working load limit.
• The cage is not rated for personnel lifting — use a Conquip Access Cage for that purpose.
