The EGV PSL II is a fully powered pedestrian stacker for indoor transport and stacking of palletised goods over short hauls and medium workloads. Drive and lift are both powered and controlled from the tiller head, and the wide mast with laterally mounted ergonomic tiller keeps the load and the area ahead of the truck in clear view.
At 800 mm overall width with a 1,430 mm turning circle radius, it works in corridors and aisles that would defeat a counterbalance forklift. An ultra-slow drive function gives precise positioning in tight spaces, and the spiral charging cable stows in the chassis so the truck charges from any standard socket without a dedicated charging bay.
Standard models use a 24 V 85 Ah starter battery. The plus specification upgrades to a maintenance-free 24 V 105 Ah gel battery with roughly double the expected service life, adds soft valve control for finer load positioning, and increases lowering speed. A full-freelift version is available which lifts to approximately 1,500 mm without raising the base mast.
Key Features
- Powered drive and powered lift — all functions from the tiller head
- 800 mm overall width — designed for narrow aisles and corridors
- Ultra-slow drive function — precise positioning in confined spaces
- Battery and charger included — supplied ready to work
- Spiral charging cable stowed in the chassis — charges at any socket
- Access opening beneath the chassis — motor wheel removal without jacking
Where Is It Used?
Warehouse racking, goods-in and despatch, vehicle loading and unloading, production feed and stock rooms — anywhere palletised loads need stacking to height but a counterbalance truck is too large or the duty does not justify one.
Pre-Use Checks
- Confirm the thorough examination is in date and the report is available.
- Check the battery charge level and that the charging lead is disconnected and stowed.
- Inspect forks for cracks, bending or wear.
- Test lift, lower, travel and the emergency isolator through full function with no load.
- Check the service brake and that the truck stops when the tiller is released.
- Inspect drive wheel, load and steering rollers for damage or embedded debris.
- Confirm the load is within rated capacity at 600 mm load centre.
Safety
- Rated capacity applies up to 2.5 m lift height. Above that, refer to the residual capacity chart in the operating manual.
- Capacity is quoted at a 600 mm load centre.
- Never allow anyone beneath raised forks or a raised load.
- Do not use the truck to lift or transport people.
- Travel with the forks lowered.
- Charge traction batteries in a designated, well-ventilated area.
- Thorough examination is required under LOLER 1998 at least every 12 months.
A stacker lifts as well as moves. Where loads only need moving at floor level, a hand pallet truck is lighter and cheaper.
Certification & Standards
- CE marked and supplied with EC Declaration of Conformity
- Designed and manufactured to EN ISO 3691-1 for self-propelled industrial trucks
- Manufactured by Pfaff-Silberblau, part of the Columbus McKinnon group
- Thorough examination required under LOLER 1998 Regulation 9 at intervals not exceeding 12 months
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Is the battery and charger included?
Yes. The EGV PSL II range is supplied with battery and charger included as standard. The plus versions use maintenance-free gel batteries with longer working hours and roughly double the expected service life.
Q: What is the difference between the standard and plus versions?
The plus specification adds maintenance-free gel batteries, soft valve control for finer lifting and lowering, and a faster lowering speed.
Q: What does the Freelift version do?
The EGV PSL 1229 II plus Freelift raises the forks up to approximately 1,500 mm without the base mast extending, which is useful where overhead height is restricted.
Q: Does the operator need a forklift licence?
These are pedestrian-controlled powered trucks. Operators must be trained and competent, and employers should follow HSE guidance on lift truck operator training.
Q: How is it charged?
From a standard socket using the supplied charger. A spiral charging cable stows in the chassis.
Q: Will it fit down a narrow aisle?
Overall width is 800 mm, with a turning circle radius of 1,430 mm and a pallet aisle width of 2,210 mm.
Q: Does it need a LOLER inspection?
Yes — thorough examination by a competent person at intervals not exceeding 12 months, and after any exceptional event.
