Yale HPH Hydraulic Hand Pumps

For Double-Acting Cylinders | 700 bar | 0.7 to 10 Litre Reservoirs | Integrated 4/3-Way Valve

The Yale HPH range comprises hydraulic hand pumps for double-acting cylinders at 700 bar maximum. Five models cover reservoir volumes from 0.7 to 10 litres. Each HPH integrates a 4/3-way directional valve so a single pump controls both extension and retraction of double-acting cylinders. The HPH shares the two-stage design and basic construction of the HPS range.

Integrated 4/3-way valve for double-acting cylinder control

Yale states the HPH range basically does not differ from the HPS but is equipped with a 4/3-way directional valve. The fine adjustable relief valve is unaffected and permits sensitive pressure relief. Yale notes that unlike conventional pumps, all HPH-type pumps include a precision relief valve in addition to the directional control valve - this allows precise lowering of the load without pressure shocks.

Suitable Applications

Per Yale: control of double-acting hydraulic cylinders (YH, YCH) requiring both push and pull or controlled retraction under load. The HPH is the standard pump for double-acting work in the Yale 700 bar range.

Key Features

  • Integrated 4/3-Way Directional Valve: advance, hold, retract positions.
  • Two-Stage Operation with Automatic Switch-Over: stage 1 rapid travel; stage 2 high force.
  • Precision-Adjustable Relief Valve: Yale documents this as the advantage over conventional pumps - precise lowering of load without pressure shocks.
  • Robust All-Steel Construction: no plastic parts.
  • Pressure Gauge Shows Push AND Pull Force: with appropriate gauge adaptor (GA-703 or GA-704).
  • Two Outlet Ports: two CFY-1 female coupler halves included.
  • 3/8 NPT Oil Port: Yale standard interface.
  • Supplied Ready to Use: includes hydraulic oil filling.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Why does the HPH have a precision relief valve as well as the directional valve?

Yale documents this as unique to the HPH design. Manual directional control valves on conventional pumps switch over abruptly, causing undesired pressure surges in the system under load. The additional relief valve in the HPH allows controlled pressure relief without pressure shocks.

Q: Can the pressure gauge show both push and pull force?

Yes. Yale notes the combination of 4-way directional valve with sensitive relief valve allows the pressure gauge to show pressure as both pushing and pulling force. Use GA-703 (G 1/2) or GA-704 (G 1/4) gauge adaptor.

Q: Can the HPH be base-frame mounted?

Yes. Yale offers HPB base frames: HPB-2 fits HPH-2/0.7 A and HPH-2/2 A; HPB-4 fits HPH-2/4 A; HPB-6 fits HPH-2/6.5 A.
