Adjustable manual gripping handles for efficient lifting, transport, and placement of concrete kerbs, edge blocks, and natural stone kerbs. Galvanised finish, replaceable rubber grips. WLL 30kg per set.
Conquip Kerb Stone Handles, also known as kerb lifting handles, are adjustable gripping handles used as an efficient method for manually lifting, transporting, and placing concrete kerbs, edge blocks, and natural stone kerbs. The simple, lightweight design (just 7.5kg) and adjustable grip range make them the standard hand tool for kerb-laying gangs working on smaller kerbstone sizes. The handles can be operated by a single operator on lighter kerbs, but Conquip recommend using two sets to move one load -- with an operator on each set of handles -- for safer, more controlled placement. As a manual-only tool, the handles support a sustainability-focused approach to kerb laying: less machinery on site means lower CO2 emissions, less fuel cost, and reduced plant scheduling complexity. The galvanised finish provides corrosion resistance and weather protection for tools that live in the back of vans, while replaceable rubber grips allow worn parts to be swapped quickly without retiring the whole tool.
Galvanised finish. Replaceable rubber grips. WLL 30kg per set.

Kerb Stone Handles are the standard hand tool for kerb-laying gangs handling smaller kerb sizes -- standard PCC kerbs, edge blocks, channel blocks, and natural stone kerbs in domestic, commercial, and minor highways work. They are particularly valuable for projects where minimising plant on site is a priority -- city-centre work, restricted access projects, sustainability-focused contracts, and fit-out work where machinery cannot be brought close to the laying position. For larger HB kerbs and slabs, see the Kerb Gripper. For mechanical placement of kerbs, steps, and pre-formed sections, see the Kerb Lifter.
Warning: Working Load Limit of 30kg per set. For two-set use, the combined WLL is 60kg, but the maximum single-kerb weight should still be assessed against safe manual handling guidance (HSE recommends 25kg per person for symmetric, low-frequency lifts). Wear cut-resistant gloves and steel-toe boots. Do not use this tool for crane or machine lifting under any circumstances.
The 220-300mm adjustable grip range covers most standard PCC kerbs, edge blocks, channel blocks, and natural stone kerbs up to 30kg per set. They are not suitable for HB kerbs or large kerbstones -- use the Kerb Gripper for those.
For lighter kerbs within the 30kg WLL of a single set, yes. Conquip recommend using two sets with one operator each for any kerb being lifted to a placement position -- the second set keeps the load balanced and reduces strain on a single operator's back.
The Kerb Stone Handles are lightweight manual-only handles for smaller kerbs (WLL 30kg per set). The Kerb Gripper is a manual scissor lifter for larger HB kerbs and slabs (WLL 100kg, two-operator manual or machine-lift via central eye). The Kerb Lifter is a mechanical grab for kerbs, steps, and pre-formed sections (WLL 600kg, designed for excavator/crane lift). Pick by kerb size and lifting method.
Yes -- the rubber grips can be replaced when worn, extending the working life of the handles considerably. This is a routine maintenance item, not a reason to replace the whole tool.
Manual lifting eliminates the fuel use and CO2 emissions associated with running plant -- excavators, telehandlers, or cranes -- for short-distance kerb placements. On many projects this can reduce both site emissions and direct costs (fuel, plant hire, operator time). It also frees up plant for other work elsewhere on site.
