Power Generation

Matching supply to demand

Site power ranges from a single generator to hybrid and battery systems feeding a distribution network. The right answer depends on the load profile — peak demand, and how much of the time you are anywhere near it.

Why oversizing costs money

A generator running at a fraction of its rating burns fuel inefficiently and wears badly. Sizing on peak demand alone usually produces a machine that spends most of its life underloaded.

Hybrid and battery

Where demand varies with long quiet periods, battery storage covers the low load and the engine runs only to recharge. That cuts fuel, noise and emissions, and matters increasingly where sites have air quality or noise conditions attached.

Common questions
How do I size site power?

On the load profile rather than peak alone — how much power is needed, and how much of the time. Oversizing wastes fuel and wears the machine.

What is a hybrid system?

A generator paired with battery storage. The battery covers low demand and the engine runs only to recharge, cutting fuel, noise and emissions.

When is battery storage worth it?

Where demand varies with long low-load periods, or where noise and emissions conditions apply to the site.
