The Camlok PP pile pulling clamp is the partner to the CP pile pitching clamp — specifically designed for the extraction (pulling) of sheet piles and trench shields after installation. Available in PP3 (3000 kg) and PP8 (8000 kg) WLL ratings, the PP is engineered for the high tensile demands of pile extraction.
Key Features
- Two capacity ratings — PP3 (3000 kg) and PP8 (8000 kg) WLL.
- Pile-extraction specific — engineered for the high tensile demands of pulling sheet piles after installation.
- Heavy site-grade construction — built for the rough environment of marine and civil construction.
- Double-locking mechanism — gripping force increases with load AND an independent secondary lock prevents accidental release during high-tension extraction operations.
- Companion to CP series — paired with the Camlok CP for pile pitching, the PP completes the pile-handling toolkit.
CE Marked, UKCA Compliant & LOLER 1998 Ready
The Camlok PP pile pulling clamp is CE marked, UKCA compliant, and supplied with certification. Fully compatible with LOLER 1998 and PUWER 1998 when used within rated capacity.
Suitable Applications
Sheet pile extraction in groundworks, civil engineering, marine construction, and trench shield recovery operations. Used where installed piles need to be pulled and removed at the end of the construction phase.
Safety Information
- Use a load indicator — pile extraction generates very high tensile loads; a load indicator is strongly recommended to prevent overload of the clamp and crane during pulling operations.
- Confirm clamp double-locking is engaged before applying full extraction force.
- Never exceed the rated WLL. Pile extraction force can spike rapidly — maintain a safety margin.
- Keep all personnel clear of the extraction path of the pile.
- Inspect for damage from extraction stresses after every pull cycle.
Inspection and Maintenance
A visual inspection is required before every use. A thorough examination by a qualified engineer is required at least every 6 months in regular use, in accordance with LOLER 1998. Records of examination must be kept. Refer to the manufacturer's manual for detailed inspection and maintenance instructions, derating factors for use, and replacement schedules for any wearing components.
