Kits

Why buy a kit

A kit supplies a harness, lanyard and connectors chosen to work together, in a bag, with one set of documentation. For occasional users, or for issuing to subcontractors, that is simpler and more reliable than assembling parts separately.

Check the clearance

Many general purpose kits are built around a shock-absorbing lanyard, which needs significant clearance below the anchor. If your working position is restricted, look for a kit built around a self-retracting block instead. This is the most common mismatch.

Storage

The bag is part of the product. Kit left loose in a vehicle picks up fuel, grit and sunlight, all of which degrade webbing. Store it dry and out of direct sun, and inspect it before each use.

Common questions
What is in a fall arrest kit?

Typically a full body harness, a lanyard, connectors and a carry bag, supplied as a combination with documentation.

Is a kit suitable for low clearance work?

Not usually. Most are built around a shock-absorbing lanyard which needs substantial clearance. For restricted positions choose a kit with a self-retracting block.

Can I mix components between kits?

Only where the manufacturers' instructions allow it. The value of a kit is that the combination is already matched and documented.

Which brands do you stock for Kits?

We supply Yale. Ranges vary, so check the brand page for the full listing.
