Pfaff-Silberblau HU 20-115 QLTP Quick-Lift Hand Pallet Truck

PROLINE | 2,000 kg Capacity | Quick-Lift Hydraulics | CE Marked

The Pfaff-Silberblau HU 20-115 QLTP is engineered for high-cycle environments where the operator spends a significant portion of the working day lifting empty forks from rest to full height. Standard pallet truck hydraulics deliver around 15 to 20 mm of lift per pump stroke regardless of load — meaning that raising an empty fork to engage a pallet takes the same number of strokes as raising a full pallet. The QLTP's quick-lift hydraulics deliver around 60 mm per stroke under loads up to 200 kg, dropping back to standard lift behaviour above that load. For an operator pumping the handle several hundred times per shift, this is the difference between an aching shoulder and a sustainable working day. Capacity remains 2,000 kg with the full PROLINE chassis specification, hardened axles, and hard-chromed hydraulic piston.

CE Marked & EN 1757-2 Compliant

Supplied with an EC Declaration of Conformity under EU Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC. Manufactured in compliance with EN 1757-2 and the harmonised standards DIN EN ISO 12100-1 and DIN EN ISO 12100-2. Type tested under BGV D27.

Key Features

  • Quick-lift function for loads up to 200 kg — three to four times the lift-per-stroke of standard hydraulics. Raises an empty fork from 85 mm to engagement height in three or four pumps rather than ten or twelve. Above 200 kg the pump automatically switches to standard lift mode for proper load handling.
  • Automatic mode switching — the operator doesn't need to select between quick-lift and load-lift. The hydraulic system detects the load and switches automatically at the 200 kg threshold.
  • Reduced operator fatigue — in high-cycle work the QLTP saves between 40% and 60% of the total pump strokes per shift. The benefit is most pronounced in pick-and-pack operations, hire fleet returns, and any environment where empty forks are repeatedly raised and lowered.
  • 2,000 kg full capacity — the quick-lift feature does not compromise load capacity. The truck handles UK and Euro pallets at full working load with standard performance once above the 200 kg threshold.
  • PROLINE-grade chassis — hardened axles, hard-chromed piston, powder-coated steel frame. Built to the same heavier specification as the rest of the PROLINE range.
  • Ergonomic safety handle with 105° steering — rubber grip, one-handed control, tight turning radius for confined spaces.
  • VG/PUR roller combination — solid rubber steering for shock absorption; polyurethane load rollers for quiet running and no floor marking.

Where Is the QLTP Used?

The QLTP earns its place in operations where the same operator performs many pick-and-place cycles per shift. Order pickers in distribution warehouses who pull stock from multiple pallet locations onto a single delivery pallet may engage and disengage 30 to 50 different pallets in a shift — each one requiring the empty fork to be raised from rest. The QLTP cuts hundreds of pump strokes per shift out of that workflow.

Hire fleet operations specify the QLTP for their service-bay trucks. When pallet trucks are returned from hire they go through a multi-station inspection process: fork lift, hydraulic test, roller check, frame inspection. Each station involves raising and lowering the truck for the next operator — the QLTP makes this physically much easier across the shift.

Manufacturing operations that move palletised raw material onto and off production lines specify the QLTP because the throughput pattern involves frequent empty-fork repositioning. The 2,000 kg loaded capacity is adequate for nearly all production materials.

Recommended Pre-Use Checks

  1. Visually inspect the forks, frame, and connecting rods for damage.
  2. Test the quick-lift function unladen — the fork should rise approximately 60 mm per pump stroke when below the 200 kg threshold.
  3. Test the standard lift mode with a representative load — the pump should switch to ~20 mm per stroke once above 200 kg.
  4. Check the steering and load rollers for free rotation.
  5. Confirm the hydraulic system holds pressure for 30 seconds unladen.
  6. Inspect for hydraulic oil leaks.
  7. Verify the data plate is legible.

Safety

  • Do not exceed the 2,000 kg safe working load.
  • Do not use to lift personnel.
  • Distribute the load evenly across both forks.
  • The quick-lift function is automatic and operator-transparent — no special procedure required, but operators should understand the mode switch occurs at 200 kg so they can confirm correct operation during pre-use checks.
  • Move at walking speed only. Pedestrian operation.
  • Standard delivery is without parking brake — specify if needed.
  • Rated for ambient temperature -10°C to +50°C.
  • Inspect annually under PUWER 1998 and BGV D27.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does the quick-lift actually work?
Two-stage hydraulics. Below the 200 kg threshold, the pump operates at lower pressure with a larger displacement per stroke — trading force for speed. Above 200 kg, an internal pressure-sensitive valve switches the pump to a higher-pressure, lower-displacement mode that delivers the necessary force to lift the load. The switch is automatic and instant; the operator simply pumps and the system selects the right mode.
Does the quick-lift wear the pump faster?
No — the pump is designed for two-stage operation from the start. The hard-chromed piston, pressure relief valve, and seal kit are sized for the operating cycle. Service life is comparable to the standard PROLINE pumps, with the same maintenance schedule.
When should I choose the QLTP over a standard TS?
Choose the QLTP if your typical work pattern involves more than 20 fork engagements per hour with empty or light-load fork raises. Order pickers, hire-fleet workshops, and high-throughput manufacturing all benefit. If the truck mostly moves loaded pallets from A to B with infrequent fork repositioning, the standard TS is the right choice.
Will the operator notice the difference?
Yes — immediately on the first empty lift. The fork rises noticeably faster per stroke. Most operators describe it as "feeling light" on the empty cycle. Some operators take a session to adapt to the higher rate of rise because they reach engagement height in fewer strokes than they are used to.
Can the threshold be changed?
No — the 200 kg threshold is set by the internal pressure-sensing valve and is not user-adjustable. Custom thresholds are not offered.
What hydraulic oil does it use?
HLP-DIN 51524 T2 ISO VG 46 hydraulic oil — the same specification as the standard SILVERLINE and PROLINE range. No special oil required for the quick-lift function.
What about annual inspection?
Standard PUWER 1998 applies. Annual examination by a competent person, with the same checks as the standard PROLINE range. The pressure-sensing valve should be tested during the annual examination to confirm correct mode switching.
