Pfaff-Silberblau HU PROLINE Extended-Fork Hand Pallet Truck

PROLINE | 2,000 โ€“ 2,500 kg Capacity | Fork Lengths 1,300 โ€“ 2,500 mm | CE Marked

The Pfaff-Silberblau HU PROLINE extended-fork hand pallet truck is engineered for one specific job: moving palletised loads longer than the standard 1,150 mm fork can safely support. Five fork lengths from 1,300 mm right up to 2,500 mm allow the safe transport of box pallets, timber bundles, kerbstone packs, long ducting and double-length continental pallets. Engineered and manufactured in Germany on the heavier PROLINE chassis with hardened axles, hard-chromed hydraulic piston and a 105ยฐ steering angle tuned for moving long loads in confined spaces.

Key Features

  • Five fork lengths from 1,300 mm to 2,500 mm โ€” covers continental box pallets (typically 1,200 ร— 1,500 mm), timber bundles, kerbstone packs, ducting, and any palletised load where standard 1,150 mm forks leave too much overhang at the rear of the load.
  • Up to 2,500 kg capacity โ€” the 1,300 mm HU 25-130 TP retains the full 2,500 kg SILVERLINE rating; the longer 1,500 / 1,800 / 2,000 mm variants derate slightly to 2,000 kg to keep the fork bending stress within the same safety factor. The 2,500 mm version uses heavier construction and PUR/PUR roller specification for the 275 kg gross weight.
  • PROLINE-grade chassis and pump โ€” built to the heavier PROLINE specification with hardened axles, hard-chromed piston, and a low-maintenance pump rated for high cycle counts. The PROLINE designation marks this as the professional-tier construction rather than the lighter SILVERLINE.
  • Ergonomic safety control handle โ€” rubber grip with one-handed control of lift, drive, and lower. 105ยฐ steering each side is essential for manoeuvring long forks in tight spaces.
  • Robust steel construction โ€” adjustable connecting rods, powder-coated finish, and hardened axles built for daily commercial use on construction sites and timber yards.
  • Optional driving and parking brake โ€” available factory-fitted. Particularly recommended on the longer fork variants where load momentum during transit is significant.
  • VG/PUR tyre combination as standard โ€” solid rubber steering for shock absorption, polyurethane load rollers for quiet running. The 2,500 mm variant uses PUR/PUR throughout for the heavier chassis weight.

More About This Product

The Pfaff-Silberblau HU PROLINE extended-fork hand pallet truck is engineered for one specific job: moving palletised loads that are longer than the standard 1,150 mm fork can safely support. Engineered and manufactured in Germany by Pfaff-Silberblau (Columbus McKinnon Group), the range covers five fork lengths from 1,300 mm right up to 2,500 mm, allowing the safe transport of box pallets, timber bundles, kerbstone packs, long ducting, and the awkward double-length pallets that arrive from continental suppliers. The chassis is the heavier PROLINE specification with hardened axles, hard-chromed hydraulic piston, and a steering geometry tuned for moving long loads in confined spaces. All five fork-length variants share a 105ยฐ steering angle, ergonomic safety handle, and PROLINE-grade hydraulic system.

Where Is the PROLINE Long Used?

The extended-fork PROLINE is found on sites where a standard pallet truck is fundamentally the wrong tool. Timber merchants use the 1,800 and 2,000 mm variants to move 1,800 mm length timber bundles in single bites rather than risk overhang or double-handling. Kerbstone manufacturers and concrete product yards specify the 2,500 mm variant for moving paired kerb pallets and long precast units. Continental import operations โ€” particularly anyone receiving box pallets from German or Italian suppliers where 1,200 ร— 1,500 mm is the dominant pallet format โ€” need the 1,500 mm fork to safely engage the rear board.

On construction sites, the extended fork is the standard tool for moving plasterboard bundles, ducting runs, mineral fibre insulation pallets, and any palletised material delivered in 2,000 mm-plus lengths. Using a standard pallet truck on these loads with the rear of the pallet hanging unsupported risks both the load tipping and the pallet boards splitting under unsupported moment loading.

Recommended Pre-Use Checks

  1. Visually inspect the entire fork length for damage, cracks, or deformation. Long forks are exposed to greater bending moments and show damage earlier than standard forks.
  2. Check load rollers along the full fork length for free rotation and embedded debris.
  3. Check the steering rollers and confirm the 105ยฐ steering travel is unobstructed.
  4. Test the lift and lower functions through full travel before placing a load on the forks.
  5. Confirm the hydraulic system holds pressure โ€” raise the unladen forks fully, leave for 30 seconds, check for unintended drop.
  6. Inspect the chassis for hydraulic oil leaks around the pump and lift cylinder.
  7. If fitted with the optional brake, test that it engages and releases positively.
  8. Verify the data plate is legible.

Safety Information

  • Do not exceed the stated SWL for your model (2,500 kg on the 1,300 mm variant; 2,000 kg on the 1,500/1,800/2,000/2,500 mm variants).
  • Long forks demand careful attention to load centring โ€” the load centre of gravity must remain within the fork base over the load wheels, not at the unsupported tip.
  • Do not use to lift personnel under any circumstances.
  • Distribute load evenly across both forks. Off-centre loading on long forks creates significant tipping moment.
  • The longer variants generate substantial momentum during transit โ€” consider specifying the optional brake.
  • Move at walking speed only. Pedestrian operation.
  • Operators should be trained in manual handling and familiar with the increased turning radius required.
  • Rated for ambient temperature -10ยฐC to +50ยฐC.
  • Inspect annually under PUWER 1998 and BGV D27.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Which fork length do I need?

Choose the shortest fork that fully spans the bottom of the pallet you are lifting, leaving roughly 100 mm of fork engagement past the rear edge of the pallet base. For 1,200 mm box pallets, choose the 1,300 mm. For 1,500 mm continental pallets, choose the 1,500 mm. For timber and ducting runs at 1,800 / 2,000 mm, choose the matching fork length. The 2,500 mm fork is specialist โ€” specify only for double-pallet or kerb-pack operations.

Q: Why does capacity drop on the longer forks?

Bending stress on a cantilevered fork increases linearly with length. To keep the safety factor consistent across the range, Pfaff derates capacity from 2,500 kg (at 1,300 mm) to 2,000 kg (at 1,500 mm and longer). The 2,500 mm variant uses heavier steel and additional cross-bracing to maintain 2,000 kg at the longest length, which is why it weighs 275 kg compared to under 100 kg for the shorter variants.

Q: Can I move loads shorter than the fork length?

Yes, but the load must be positioned over the load-roller end of the fork (rear of truck), not at the tip. A standard 1,200 mm pallet on a 2,000 mm fork should sit with its front edge at the fork tip, not overhanging the rear of the truck. Moving a load positioned at the front of a long fork creates excessive tipping moment.

Q: What is the difference between PROLINE and SILVERLINE?

PROLINE is Pfaff's heavier professional-tier specification with reinforced chassis, hardened axles, hard-chromed piston, and higher cycle ratings than the standard SILVERLINE range. All extended-fork models are PROLINE because the longer leverage demands more from the chassis.

Q: Is the brake worth specifying on the long forks?

Strongly recommended on the 1,800 mm and longer variants. A 2,000 kg load on a 2,000 mm fork has significant momentum during transit, and stopping a moving load by body weight alone becomes physically demanding. The optional driving and parking brake makes the truck safer to handle on any working route.

Q: Will the 2,500 mm version fit through a standard doorway?

No. The HU 20-250 TP has an overall length of approximately 2,900 mm including the handle in the upright position. It needs a wide working space and is intended for yard and warehouse use, not for navigating standard 900 mm office or service doorways. Confirm your access dimensions before ordering this variant.

Q: Are these compatible with our existing parts stock?

The hydraulic seal kits, pump assemblies, and steering rollers are common across the PROLINE and SILVERLINE range. The load rollers and fork tines are specific to each variant. If you already stock parts for other Pfaff trucks, the same workshop carries most of the consumables for the extended-fork models.
