Yale VEP Solenoid Directional Valves

Solenoid-Operated 700 bar | Incl. Pressure Set Valve | Modular Design | Continuous Duty

The Yale VEP range comprises solenoid-operated hydraulic directional valves with integrated pressure set valves, rated for 700 bar maximum operating pressure. Four models cover single-acting (3/3-way) and double-acting (4/3-way) applications in two flow sizes. All VEP valves have three positions: advance, stop (hold), retract.

Electrically-actuated directional control with integrated pressure setting

Yale states the VEP solenoid-operated valves are used to control hydraulic cylinders via a pendant remote control or further electrical controls (pressure switches, limit switches). In neutral position (stop), the valves switch to pressureless circuit - oil flow returns to the reservoir while the cylinder is safely held under pressure via the leak-free load-hold function. Yale specifies long-life direct-control ball seal valves with solenoids that guarantee very quick reaction so cylinders can be controlled millimeter-wise.

Applications

Per Yale: PLC-controlled hydraulic systems, automated workshop press machinery, remote-operated hydraulic circuits, multi-cylinder systems with sequenced operation. Valves can be mounted directly onto power packs or remote-mounted via hydraulic piping. The modular principle allows special valve configurations - e.g. control of multiple cylinder systems or specific control sequences.

Key Features

  • 3 Solenoid Positions: advance / stop / retract via pendant remote control.
  • Pressureless Circuit in Neutral: oil returns to reservoir while cylinder safely held under pressure.
  • Leak-Free Load Hold Function: Yale-specified - cylinder holds position without pressure drop.
  • Long-Life Direct-Control Ball Seal Valves: Yale's specified valve design.
  • Continuous Duty Operation: Yale rates VEP for 100% on/off duration.
  • Modular Design: allows custom valve configurations.
  • Precision Pressure Set Valve: limits system pressure to any value from 0 to 700 bar.
  • Glycerine-Damped Pressure Gauge GGY-631: standard - 0-1000 bar, 63 mm.
  • Mounting Flanges Designed for Yale Power Packs: direct flange mounting.
  • 24 V DC Control Voltage: Yale standard.

Frequently Asked Questions

What's the oil port thread?
P and T ports are 3/8 NPT. Yale notes that if oil ports A and B should have 3/8 NPT, the adaptor model FY-30 must be ordered separately.
Is the pressure gauge supplied?
Yes - Yale specifies the GGY-631 glycerine-damped pressure gauge as standard with the VEP (0-1000 bar, 63 mm).
What's the duty cycle rating?
Yale specifies 100% on/off duration - the valves are suitable for continuous operation.
Optional FY-905 connector?
Yes - Yale notes the FY-905 connector is available as an option and must be ordered separately.
