The YaleERGO 360 UT extends the patented YaleERGO 360 design with an automatically acting safety gear that monitors load speed continuously and engages the moment overspeed is detected — preventing sudden drops without any operator action. Engineered specifically for overhead line construction, cable car construction and aerial work, the UT carries an EN 1808 compliant safety device (patent pending) developed in cooperation with the German employers' liability insurance associations BGHM and BG ETEM. The safety gear remains effective even with rusted ratchet pawls, broken springs or other component failures.
Key Features
- Automatically acting safety gear (patent pending): Unique automatic-locking device prevents sudden drops. Active during operation and inactive moments — operator does not need to activate it. Engages once speed exceeds 0.5 m/s.
- EN 1808 compliant safety device: Meets EN 1808 section 8.9.2 — automatic engagement on overspeed, stopping distance under 500 mm, resettable, testable.
- Fail-safe even with component failure: Remains safe even with rusted ratchet pawl, broken springs, basic corrosion or dirt.
- Excellent corrosion protection for outdoor use: Housing optimised for outdoor applications with water drainage holes on all sides. External components zinc-plated, internal moving parts MKS coated (zinc flake).
- Inherits all YaleERGO 360 features: Patented hand lever with integrated crank, 360° rotation, locking direction indicator, covered load pressure brake, free-chaining device, rotatable forged hooks.
- Reset button for safety gear: Dedicated push button to fully reset the safety gear after activation.

CE & UKCA Marked | EN 1808 Safety Compliant | Patent Pending Automatic Safety Gear
The YaleERGO 360 UT meets the safety requirements of EN 1808 (Safety requirements for suspended access equipment, section 8.9.2). The automatically acting safety gear is developed in cooperation with BGHM (Berufsgenossenschaft Holz und Metall) and BG ETEM. Per BG ETEM statement: "The integrated safety gear makes organizational measures such as the parallel use of several devices, the additional insertion of slings or the use and repositioning of an additional chain stopper obsolete. In accordance with the S-T-O-P principle, the additional safety gear represents a technical solution that is superior to the organizational solutions used to date." This product is CE marked and UKCA marked. LOLER 1998 thorough examinations are required every 12 months by a competent person.
Suitable Applications
The YaleERGO 360 UT is engineered specifically for applications where personnel work below the load and a sudden drop would have serious consequences. Primary applications include overhead line construction (rail, tram, trolley), cable car construction, aerial construction and maintenance, suspended access equipment (EN 1808), and construction of contact lines.
