Conquip Bulk Bag Lifting Frame

Crane-lifted bulk bag carrier for the safe and efficient movement of tonne bags and other bulk bags of materials or waste around site. Single-point lift, WLL 1100kg.

The Conquip Bulk Bag Lifting Frame, also known as a bulk bag carrier, is a crane lifting frame designed for the safe and easy movement of tonne bags and other bulk bags of materials or waste around site. The frame has a single central lifting point for connecting to a crane or other lifting apparatus, eliminating the need for a separate four-leg chain sling and giving fast, efficient attachment. This is a much safer method for transporting bulk bags over short distances than balancing them on the end of fork tines. The robust steel construction is built to withstand regular site use, and the simple flat-frame geometry sits stably on the ground for easy bag loading. Ideal for single-bag lifts; for transporting multiple bags in a single lift, consider the Conquip Goods Cage range.

CE-marked | LOLER 1998 compliant | Manufactured in the UK

Key Features

  • Robust steel design built to withstand regular site use
  • Single central lifting point for connecting to a crane or other suitable lifting apparatus
  • Single connection point allows for faster and more efficient attachment than four-leg chain sling alternatives
  • Much safer method for transporting bulk bags than balancing them on the end of fork tines
  • Flat-frame geometry sits stably on the ground for easy bag loading
  • Lightweight at 25kg, allowing single-person handling of the empty frame
  • Compatible with standard tonne bags and most bulk bag dimensions

Suitable Applications

Bulk Bag Lifting Frames are essential for any construction or industrial site that handles bulk bags of aggregate, sand, cement, soil, waste, insulation, or other granular materials. The single-point lift makes the frame ideal for repeated short-distance bag transfers — for example, lifting bags to upper floors of a structure, moving aggregate stockpiles, or relocating waste bags to a collection point. For lifting multiple bags in a single crane cycle, the Conquip Goods Cage is a more efficient option.

How to Use

  1. Carry out a pre-use inspection: frame integrity, central lifting point, welds, and any visible damage
  2. Position the frame on a stable, level surface
  3. Lower the bulk bag onto the frame, ensuring the bag handles are accessible
  4. Pass the bag handles through the frame's lifting eyes or attachment points
  5. Connect the central lifting point to the crane hook
  6. Take the strain slowly and verify the load is balanced before completing the lift
  7. Transport the bag at a controlled speed, avoiding sudden movements
  8. Lower the bag gently at the destination and disconnect the frame from the crane hook

Warning: Working Load Limit of 1100kg must not be exceeded. Verify bag weight before every lift. Bag handles must be in good condition and rated for crane lifting. Inspect the frame before every use under LOLER 1998. Lifting must be carried out by a competent crane operator with a trained banksman or signaller.

Safety Information

  • Working Load Limit of 1100kg must not be exceeded under any circumstance
  • Verify bulk bag weight before every lift — many bulk bags exceed 1000kg when filled with dense aggregate
  • Bag handles must be intact, undamaged, and rated for crane lifting
  • Pre-use inspection required before every lift; thorough examination every six months under LOLER 1998
  • Frame must sit on a stable, level surface during loading
  • Frames with damaged welds, deformed lifting points, or visible corrosion must be removed from service immediately
  • Lifting must be carried out by a competent crane operator with a trained banksman or signaller
  • Do not stand directly beneath a loaded bulk bag during lifting
  • Do not use this frame for transporting personnel under any circumstance

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What is a bulk bag carrier?

A bulk bag carrier is another name for a Bulk Bag Lifting Frame — a crane-lifted accessory that supports the bulk bag during lifting and transport, providing a stable, single-point attachment to the crane.

Q: Can I lift multiple bulk bags in a single lift?

The Bulk Bag Lifting Frame is designed for single-bag lifts. To lift multiple bags in a single crane cycle, use the Conquip Goods Cage range — a versatile multi-bag carrier with higher Working Load Limits.

Q: Is this safer than lifting bulk bags on forks?

Yes — balancing a bulk bag on the end of fork tines is unstable and risks the bag rolling or falling. The Bulk Bag Lifting Frame holds the bag in a controlled, stable position throughout the lift, significantly reducing the risk of dropped loads.

Q: What capacity bulk bag does this frame fit?

The frame's 1020x1020mm footprint is sized for standard tonne bags. The 1100kg WLL covers the typical loaded weight of construction-grade bulk bags. Verify your specific bag dimensions and loaded weight before purchase.
