Hydraulic Jacks

Bottle and trolley jacks

Bottle jacks are compact, high capacity and lift from a small footprint, which suits plant and vehicles with clearance underneath. Trolley jacks roll into position and have a longer reach, better suited to workshop use on flat floors.

Capacity, stroke and closed height

Choose capacity first, then check the stroke gives the lift you need and the closed height fits under the load. Closed height is the dimension most often overlooked, and no amount of capacity helps if the jack will not go underneath.

Never work under a jack alone

A jack raises a load; it does not hold it. Transfer onto stands or blocking before anyone goes near or underneath.

Common questions
Bottle jack or trolley jack?

Bottle jacks are compact and lift high capacities from a small footprint. Trolley jacks roll into position with a longer reach and suit flat workshop floors.

What is closed height?

The height of the jack fully retracted. If it exceeds the clearance under the load the jack cannot be used, whatever its capacity.

Can I work under a load on a jack?

No. Transfer the load onto axle stands or blocking first. Jacks lift, they do not hold.

Which brands do you stock for Hydraulic Jacks?

We supply Pfaff-Silberblau and Yale. Ranges vary, so check the brand page for the full listing.
