Access Cages / Man Baskets

Lifting people is different

Raising people by crane or forklift is a last resort, permitted only where there is no safer means of access. It requires a purpose-built and certified cage, a documented plan and more frequent examination than equipment that only lifts loads.

Choosing a cage

Match the cage to the machine and the task — crane-suspended cages differ from fork-mounted platforms in how they attach and what they are rated for. Occupancy limits are stated and must not be exceeded.

Common questions
Can I lift people in a cage on a forklift?

Only in a purpose-built, certified platform, where no safer means of access exists, and with a documented plan. Improvised arrangements are not permitted.

How often must a man basket be examined?

More frequently than equipment that only lifts loads. Check current requirements for equipment used to lift people and keep certification with the cage.

Delivery Information

From our depot to your site, every order is fully tracked and delivered on our own WOLFF Onsite vehicles or via trusted courier partners. Delivery costs are calculated based on your postcode and order size.

Pallet Delivery
Dispatched within 1–2 working days, delivered next working day between 8am–5pm, Monday to Friday. Delivery cost is based on the number of pallet spaces and your delivery zone.

Parcel Delivery
Smaller items like radio accessories and safety equipment ship via tracked courier at a flat rate. Deliveries between 8:30am–5pm, Monday to Friday.

RENTAL Delivery / Collection
All rentals are delivered and collected by the WOLFF Onsite team. We'll confirm a delivery time that works for you and arrange collection within 3 working days of your hire end date. Deliveries and collections between 8am–5pm, Monday to Friday, Saturday collections can be arranged if suitable.

Dispatch Times
Orders placed by 1pm are dispatched same day where possible. Some products carry a manufacturing lead time, this is always stated in the product description.
