Conquip Fork Extensions

Model FA808 | 1800mm & 2400mm Lengths | Forklift & Telehandler Compatible | 1000kg WLL Per Fork | UK Manufactured

Conquip Fork Extensions slip directly over the standard forks of a forklift or telehandler to temporarily extend their length. The longer carrying surface stabilises long, bulky or awkward loads — large pallets, pipes, sheet materials, prefab panels — that simple fork tines can't carry safely. Available in 1800mm and 2400mm lengths, each rated to 1000kg per fork. A heel pin secures each extension to the carrier's fork. Quick to fit, easy to remove, and a low-cost alternative to bringing additional plant to site for oversized loads.

UK Manufactured | Heavy-Duty Construction

Manufactured in the UK from heavy-duty steel for repeated commercial site use. Heel pins included as standard. The forks must occupy at least two-thirds of the extension's internal length for safe operation — see specifications and FAQ below.

Technical Specifications

Product Code Length (mm) Width (mm) Height (mm) Fork Pocket (W x H) Weight per Fork (kg) WLL per Fork (kg)
FA808-01800 1800 160 72 148 x 60 28 1000
FA808-02400 2400 160 72 148 x 60 38 1000

* Working Load Limit (WLL) is per fork. Sold and supplied as a pair.

Key Features

  • Heavy-duty construction — rated for regular commercial site use under load
  • Two length options — 1800mm and 2400mm to match different load profiles
  • 1000kg WLL per fork — combined 2000kg total carrying capacity
  • Heel pins included — secure attachment to standard fork tines
  • Standard fork pocket sizing — fits 148 x 60mm fork tines (most forklifts and telehandlers)
  • No machinery hire required — extends the capability of equipment already on site

Suitable Applications

Fork extensions are essential whenever a forklift or telehandler needs to handle a load that overhangs standard fork tines. Common uses include double-pallet handling, lifting long pipes or scaffolding, moving prefab wall panels, transporting sheet timber or plasterboard packs, and stabilising any long load where the centre of gravity would otherwise sit beyond the fork tip.

How to Fit and Use Fork Extensions

  1. Park the forklift or telehandler on level ground and lower the forks to a workable height.
  2. Slide each extension over the existing fork tine — ensure the fork enters at least two-thirds of the extension's internal length (see fitting note below).
  3. Insert the heel pin into the lock position to secure the extension.
  4. Confirm both extensions are seated equally and pinned before any lift.
  5. Drive the forks fully under or into the load, accounting for the extended reach.
  6. Lift carefully and travel with the load low and tilted slightly back.
  7. To remove, lower fully, withdraw the heel pins, and slide the extensions off.

Warning: The forks must occupy at least 2/3 of the extension's length for safe operation. The 1800mm extension requires forks of at least 1200mm; the 2400mm extension requires forks of at least 1600mm. Do not exceed 1000kg per fork.

Safety Information

  • Confirm fork length meets the 2/3 rule before fitting.
  • Always insert both heel pins before lifting — never operate with extensions unsecured.
  • Do not exceed 1000kg WLL per fork (2000kg total).
  • Adjust load centre calculations — the longer reach changes the carrier's rated capacity.
  • Travel with the load low and tilted slightly back.
  • Inspect for damage and weld integrity before each shift.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What are fork extensions used for?

They temporarily extend the length of forklift or telehandler tines so the carrier can safely transport longer, bulkier or more awkward loads — large pallets, pipes, sheet materials — that wouldn't sit safely on standard forks alone.

Q: Will using extensions save us money on a project?

Generally yes. Fork extensions allow your existing forklift or telehandler to handle loads that would otherwise require additional plant or a crane visit, removing both the hire cost and the day-rate for the operator.

Q: How do I know the extensions will fit my forks safely?

The forks must occupy at least 2/3 of the extension's internal length. So the 1800mm extension needs forks of at least 1200mm; the 2400mm extension needs forks of at least 1600mm. The fork pocket itself is sized at 148 x 60mm, which fits standard tines on most forklifts and telehandlers.
