The IFB is for sites that handle coiled product occasionally rather than continuously. It slides onto the existing forks so the truck stays configured for pallets, which makes changeover a matter of minutes instead of a carriage swap. Three models cover 500kg to 750kg on booms of 3000mm or 3500mm — if roll handling is your main activity rather than an occasional one, the carriage mounted ICP is the better fit.

Key Features

  • High tensile machined pole — precision-machined with a tapered tip for easy location into coiled products
  • Free standing design — stands independently for easy fork insertion
  • Smooth surface finish — protects the load from scoring or marking during handling
  • Fork mounted — slides onto existing forks for quick changeover between pallets and rolls
  • Secure attachment — zinc plated heel pins for safe attachment to forklift truck

UK Manufactured | LOLER Compliant

This product is designed and manufactured in the UK by Invicta Forks & Attachments, the UK's largest mechanical forklift attachment manufacturer, based in Leeds. Where applicable, this product is supplied with a test certificate and EC Declaration of Conformity. LOLER 1998 thorough examinations are required every 6 months by a competent person after initial certification.

More About This Product

The Invicta Fork Mounted Pole (Model IFB) is capable of lifting a variety of coiled products and is usually used in low volume or occasional usage environments where a mixed pallet and coiled product application exists. Unlike the carriage mounted version, the IFB slides onto the forks so the standard forks remain in place — allowing quick changeover between pallet and roll handling duties. The high tensile machined pole features a tapered tip for easy location into the core of the coiled product and a smooth surface finish to protect the load. Available in three models with boom lengths from 3000mm to 3500mm. Manufactured in Leeds by Invicta Forks & Attachments.

Suitable Applications

The IFB is ideal for carpet warehouses, paper merchants, textile manufacturers, flooring distributors and packaging suppliers where occasional roll handling is required alongside standard pallet operations. The fork-mounted design eliminates the need to remove forks, making it practical for environments with mixed load types.

How to Use the Fork Mounted Pole

  1. Position the forks to the correct distance apart to locate into fork pockets.
  2. Drive forks into fork pockets ensuring thumb screws are suitably retracted.
  3. Tighten thumb screws ensuring they are adequately tightened.
  4. Insert the pole into the core of the coiled product.
  5. Lift and transport the load at a safe, controlled speed.

Warning:
Ensure the pole is fully inserted into the load before lifting commences. Do not tip load or shock load the attachment. Do not exceed the safe working load.

Safety Information

  • Ensure thumb screws are securely fastened behind the forks before any movement.
  • Ensure the pole is fully inserted into the load before lifting.
  • Do not tip load the attachment.
  • Do not shock load the attachment under any circumstances.

Inspection and Maintenance

Inspect weekly — focus on weld points, damaged components and pole alignment. Certified for six months from manufacture.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What is the difference between the IFB and the ICP?

The IFB slides onto the existing forks, so the truck stays set up for pallet work and changeover is quick. The ICP mounts directly to the carriage for continuous roll handling. Choose the IFB for mixed duties, the ICP where coil handling is the primary task.

Q: Which model do I need?

The IFB-1 has a 70mm boom, 3000mm effective length and 500kg capacity at a 2000mm load centre. The IFB-2 offers 750kg on a 75mm boom at the same length. The IFB-3 extends to 3500mm at 750kg with a 2500mm load centre.

Q: What can it handle?

It is designed for coiled products such as carpet, paper, textiles, flooring and packaging rolls. The roll must sit fully on the pole with its weight distributed toward the boom root, not the tip.

Q: Why is the load centre so far out?

A roll loaded onto a pole places its weight along the boom rather than at one point, so rated capacity is quoted at a 2000mm or 2500mm load centre. Confirm your truck is rated at that distance before lifting.

Q: How heavy is the attachment itself?

Between 210kg and 240kg depending on model. That weight counts against the truck's capacity, so factor it in alongside the load.

Q: How is it fitted?

The attachment slides onto the standard forks and is secured with the heel pin behind the fork heel and the safety lynch pin engaged. The forks remain in place throughout.

Q: Is the boom certified?

The pole is high tensile machined and the attachment is manufactured in the UK by Invicta Forks & Attachments, supplied with a test certificate and EC Declaration of Conformity where applicable. Six-monthly thorough examination applies under LOLER 1998.
