The Yale CMHYP04 Construction Kit is a comprehensive fall arrest kit for general construction work, specified above the basic CMHYP02 kit with upgraded harness and lanyard combinations suitable for trades that combine fall arrest with general construction activities. Manufactured by Columbus McKinnon under the Yale lifting brand, each component is supplied with its own manufacturer's test certificate.

Suitable Applications

Suited to general construction including formwork, steelwork, roofing, cladding, building services installation, fit-out, and any general site activity that exposes the user to a fall risk. For specific applications such as scaffold work (use CMHYP03), restraint only (use CMHYP01), or confined space (use CMHYP05), see the dedicated kits.

How to Use the Construction Kit

1. Open the bag and inspect every component before each use.
2. Plan the fall clearance and anchor points for the working task.
3. Fit the harness, adjusting all straps for a snug, secure fit.
4. Verify the anchor point is certified to a minimum of 12 kN.
5. Connect the fall arrest lanyard between the appropriate harness D-ring and the anchor.
6. Verify all connector gates are fully closed and locked.
7. Proceed with the working task.
8. On completion, inspect and repack into the bag.

Warning: Use the appropriate harness D-ring for the task — front D-ring for ladder fall arresters, rear D-ring for general fall arrest. After any fall, withdraw the entire kit from service for competent person inspection.

Safety Information

• Inspect every kit component visually before each use.
• Verify all components are compatible and present before commencing work at height.
• Train all users in the correct fitting and use of the kit before authorising use.
• Never use any kit component that has arrested a fall — withdraw the affected component from service.
• Always attach to certified anchor points rated to a minimum of 12 kN.
• Store the kit in the supplied bag in a clean, dry location away from direct sunlight and chemicals.
• Replace any individual component as required — kits can be re-built with replacement components.

Inspection and Maintenance

Inspect each component of the kit before every use. Components may have different service life and inspection intervals — refer to each component's operating manual for the specific requirements. A competent person thorough examination is required at least every 6 months for all components. Replace components as they reach end of service life or fail inspection. The storage bag protects components between uses; do not store wet equipment in a sealed bag, allow to air-dry first.
