Yale Height Safety Work Positioning Kit CMHYP06

Model CMHYP06 | Work Positioning Kit | Multi-Point Harness with Positioning and Fall Arrest Lanyards | EN 361 and EN 358 Compliant

The Yale CMHYP06 Work Positioning Kit is designed for trades that work hands-free at height while supported by the harness โ€” typically scaffolders, structural steel workers, telecoms riggers and arborists. The kit combines a Yale multi-point harness (with work positioning side D-rings), a Yale work positioning lanyard, and a fall arrest lanyard for backup, all in a heavy-duty storage bag. Manufactured by Columbus McKinnon under the Yale brand, with each component supplied with its own test certificate.

Key Features

  • Complete work positioning system โ€” harness, positioning lanyard, and fall arrest backup in a single kit
  • Yale multi-point harness โ€” EN 361 / EN 358 compliant with side D-rings for work positioning
  • Yale work positioning lanyard โ€” EN 358 compliant โ€” supports the user in a leaning position for hands-free work
  • Yale fall arrest lanyard with energy absorber โ€” EN 354 / 355 compliant backup system for fall arrest
  • Heavy-duty storage bag โ€” protects components between uses
  • Recommended for scaffolders, riggers, and tower workers โ€” designed for trades that work hands-free at height
  • Test certificates included โ€” each component supplied with its own certificate

Technical Specifications

Model Part Number Type Contents Use
CMHYP06 N37420008A Work Positioning Kit Multi-point Harness + Positioning Lanyard + Fall Arrest Lanyard + Bag Hands-free work at height

Combines work positioning capability with fall arrest backup. The work positioning lanyard connects to the two side D-rings on the harness, while the fall arrest lanyard connects to the front or rear D-ring as a separate backup system.

CMCO Group | EN ISO 9001 Certified | EN 361 and EN 358 Compliant | CE Marked

Kit components are manufactured by Columbus McKinnon under the Yale and Tigrip lifting brands. All components conform to the relevant European standards as listed in the kit contents. Each component is supplied with its own manufacturer's test certificate and CE Declaration of Conformity. Work at Height Regulations 2005 require thorough examinations every 6 months by a competent person for all components in the kit.

Suitable Applications

Suited to scaffold erection, structural steel work, telecoms tower work, electricity pylon work, wind turbine maintenance, and any task at height where the user needs to be supported by the harness to work hands-free. The fall arrest lanyard backs up the work positioning system whenever a fall risk exists during work positioning.

How to Use the Work Positioning Kit

  1. Inspect every kit component before each use.
  2. Fit the multi-point harness and adjust for a secure fit.
  3. At the working position, connect the work positioning lanyard between the harness side D-rings and the structure.
  4. Adjust the work positioning lanyard so the user is supported in a leaning position with feet braced against the structure.
  5. Connect the fall arrest lanyard between the harness front or rear D-ring and a certified anchor as a backup system.
  6. Both connector gates must be fully closed and locked.
  7. Work hands-free in the supported position.
  8. On completion, disconnect both lanyards and repack into the bag.

Warning:
A work positioning system alone does not protect against falls โ€” a separate fall arrest backup system must be in place whenever a fall risk exists. The side D-rings are for work positioning only โ€” never use as fall arrest attachment points. Both ends of a work positioning lanyard must be connected for the user to be supported safely.

Safety Information

  • Inspect every kit component visually before each use.
  • Verify all components are compatible and present before commencing work at height.
  • Train all users in the correct fitting and use of the kit before authorising use.
  • Never use any kit component that has arrested a fall โ€” withdraw the affected component from service.
  • Always attach to certified anchor points rated to a minimum of 12 kN.
  • Store the kit in the supplied bag in a clean, dry location away from direct sunlight and chemicals.
  • Replace any individual component as required โ€” kits can be re-built with replacement components.
  • A fall arrest backup must always be in place when work positioning where a fall risk exists.
  • Side D-rings are for work positioning only โ€” never use as fall arrest attachments.

Inspection and Maintenance

Inspect each component of the kit before every use. Components may have different service life and inspection intervals โ€” refer to each component's operating manual for the specific requirements. A competent person thorough examination is required at least every 6 months for all components. Replace components as they reach end of service life or fail inspection. The storage bag protects components between uses; do not store wet equipment in a sealed bag, allow to air-dry first.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What is included in the CMHYP06 kit?

Typical contents include a Yale multi-point full body harness with work positioning side D-rings, a Yale work positioning lanyard, a Yale fall arrest lanyard with energy absorber, and a heavy-duty Yale storage bag.

Q: What is the difference between work positioning and fall arrest?

Work positioning supports the user in a leaning position to work hands-free. Fall arrest catches the user after a fall has begun. Work positioning must always be backed up with a separate fall arrest system where a fall risk exists.

Q: Why do I need both lanyards?

The work positioning lanyard supports the user while working hands-free. The fall arrest lanyard backs this up in case the user falls out of the work positioning attachment. Both are required for safe work positioning.

Q: Can I use the side D-rings for fall arrest?

No. Side D-rings are EN 358 work positioning attachments only. Fall arrest must use the front or rear D-ring with a separate fall arrest lanyard or block.

Q: Is this kit suitable for tree surgery (arboriculture)?

Yale work positioning kits are designed for industrial work positioning. Specialist arboriculture kits with different specifications are typically used for tree surgery โ€” check application-specific requirements.

Q: Can I replace individual components?

Yes. Any component can be replaced with an equivalent Yale component.

Q: How often must the kit be inspected?

Pre-use inspection by the operator, thorough examination by a competent person every 6 months.
