How to Fit and Use the Riggers Harness
- Carry out a pre-use visual and tactile inspection — webbing, stitching, all buckles, all five D-rings, and the work positioning belt.
- Hold the harness, untangle any twisted straps, and orient the work positioning belt at the waist.
- Place the harness on like a jacket. Rear D-ring centres between the shoulder blades.
- Fasten the quick connect chest buckle and adjust to a snug fit. The front and sternal D-rings should sit correctly once adjusted.
- Fasten and adjust both quick connect leg buckles.
- Position the work positioning belt around the waist, fasten and adjust.
- Adjust the shoulder straps so all five D-rings sit in their correct positions.
- Connect to the appropriate D-ring for the working task. Use tool attachment loops only for the tools they are rated for — never as load-bearing attachment points.
Warning:
Side D-rings and the sternal D-ring are for work positioning and rigging connection only — never use as fall arrest attachment. Tool attachment loops are not load-bearing.
