View Full Delivery Information →3,000 kg WLL | Yellow | Endless Loop | BS EN 1492-2 | CE Marked | UKCA Compliant
The 3 Tonne Round Sling is an endless-loop lifting sling made from continuous strands of high-tenacity polyester yarn in a colour-coded tubular woven sleeve, manufactured to BS EN 1492-2:2000. The yellow-coded sling provides a Working Load Limit of 3,000 kg in a straight lift, rising to 6,000 kg in a basket hitch, and flexes in any direction to conform to cylindrical, curved and irregular loads. The protective sleeve shields the core from abrasion and UV degradation; available in effective working lengths from 1m to 6m.

Mode Factors:
Straight lift = 3,000 kg | Choke hitch = 2,400 kg | Basket hitch = 6,000 kg. The EWL is the usable length of the sling when laid flat - the circumference shown on the identification label will be double the EWL. Always check the blue identification label before use.
This product is CE marked in accordance with EU Machinery Directive 2006/42/EEC and is UKCA compliant for the Great Britain market. Manufactured to the performance requirements of BS EN 1492-2:2000 with a 7:1 safety factor - the minimum breaking strength of the core is seven times the stated Working Load Limit, and the outer sleeve must not rupture below twice the WLL. Each sling is individually serialised and supplied with full traceability documentation including an EC Declaration of Conformity. Following Brexit, the UK government has confirmed indefinite recognition of CE marking for lifting equipment in Great Britain.
3 Tonne Round Sling is an endless-loop lifting sling constructed from continuous strands of high-tenacity polyester yarn encased in a durable, colour-coded tubular woven polyester sleeve. Manufactured to BS EN 1492-2:2000, the yellow-coded sling provides a Working Load Limit of 3,000 kg in a straight lift - rising to 6,000 kg in a basket hitch configuration. The endless tubular construction allows the sling to flex in any direction, conforming naturally to cylindrical, curved, and irregularly shaped loads. The protective outer sleeve shields the load-bearing polyester core from abrasion, UV degradation, and surface damage, while the soft material protects the load from scratching and marking. Yellow colour-coded for instant WLL identification in accordance with the international colour standard. Each sling is individually serialised with a blue identification label. Available in effective working lengths (EWL) from 1m to 6m.
This product is CE marked in accordance with EU Machinery Directive 2006/42/EEC and is UKCA compliant for the Great Britain market. Manufactured to the performance requirements of BS EN 1492-2:2000 - the European harmonised standard for textile round slings used in general purpose lifting operations. Each sling is produced with a 7:1 safety factor, individually serialised, and supplied with full traceability documentation including an EC Declaration of Conformity. All lifting equipment used on UK construction sites must comply with the Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations 1998 (LOLER) and the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998 (PUWER).
Round slings must be visually inspected before each use and undergo a thorough examination at least every six months by a competent person under LOLER 1998. Inspection must cover the full circumference of the outer sleeve on all sides, paying particular attention to bearing points where the sling contacts the load. Key indicators of damage include: cuts, tears, or holes in the outer sleeve; exposed core yarns; lumps, hard spots, or unevenness in the core; abrasion wear or thinning of the sleeve; discolouration from chemical or heat exposure; and damage to or illegibility of the identification label. Any round sling showing signs of damage must be removed from service immediately. Round slings cannot be field-repaired - damaged slings must be cut and disposed of to prevent re-use.
EWL stands for Effective Working Length - the usable length of the sling when laid flat. Because a round sling is an endless loop, the EWL is exactly half the total circumference. For example, a 3m EWL round sling has a 6m total circumference. All sizes listed on this page are EWL measurements. The circumference shown on the sling's identification label will be double the EWL you select.
Yellow. Under BS EN 1492-2, yellow indicates 3 tonne WLL - the same colour coding used for duplex webbing slings.
With a 7:1 safety factor, the minimum core breaking strength is 21,000 kg. Additionally, BS EN 1492-2 requires the outer sleeve to withstand at least twice the WLL (6,000 kg) before rupture, providing an additional layer of safety.
If the sling feels lumpy, uneven, or has hard spots when handled, the core yarns may be damaged or bunched. Compare the feel along the full length - it should be consistent throughout. Any cuts in the outer sleeve that expose the core yarns require immediate removal from service.
Yes. Round slings conform well to concrete elements and the soft material protects exposed surfaces from marking. For rough-textured concrete, use protective wear sleeves at contact points to prevent abrasion damage to the sling.
Round slings are significantly lighter, do not corrode, protect load surfaces from damage, and are much less expensive than chain slings of equivalent capacity. Use chain only when you need heat resistance above 100ยฐC or when sharp edges cannot be protected.
No. Round slings cannot be field-repaired. If the outer sleeve is damaged, cut, or if the core is exposed, the sling must be removed from service and disposed of by cutting it in half to prevent re-use.
Under LOLER 1998, a thorough examination by a competent person is required at least every six months, or in accordance with a written examination scheme. Pre-use visual inspections must also be carried out before every use.
A cow hitch is a rigging method where you pass the round sling through a lifting point (such as an eye bolt or shackle) by threading one bight through the other. This creates a secure attachment that won't slip off the fitting. It is also called a lark's foot or girth hitch.
