Camlok SC92 Screwlok Beam Clamp with Shackle

Model SC92 (Camlok) | Capacity 1,000 โ€“ 20,000 kg | Screwlok Screw-Jaw | Integral Shackle Bow | EN-Tested | Suspension Point Only โ€” NOT for Lifting

The Camlok SC92 is a Screwlok beam clamp with integral shackle suspension, providing a quick and versatile rigging point for hoisting equipment, pulley blocks or loads. The Screwlok screw-jaw mechanism adjusts to a wide range of I-beam flange widths with a simple screw rotation, and the integral shackle bow provides a ready-to-use lifting attachment point with no separate shackle required. The SC92 is part of the Camlok beam clamp range from CMCO and covers an exceptionally wide capacity envelope from 1,000 kg up to 20,000 kg in a single product family.

CRITICAL: SUSPENSION POINT ONLY โ€” NOT FOR LIFTING | CE & UKCA Marked | Product Group C4

The SC92 must not be used for lifting. It is a suspension point only. The clamp is designed to provide a rigging anchor or suspension point on an overhead beam โ€” not to grip and lift the beam or load itself. For lifting clamp applications, use the Yale YC or Camlok lifting clamp ranges instead. CE marked and UKCA marked, Declaration of Conformity supplied. LOLER 1998 thorough examinations every 12 months.

/L suffix = longer-jaw variant covering wider flange profiles. SC92-20 has a dedicated wider-flange jaw for the heaviest I-beams.

Key Features

  • Screwlok screw-jaw mechanism: Tightens onto the beam flange with a captive screw โ€” easy to fit and secure under load.
  • Integral shackle bow: Built into the clamp body โ€” no separate shackle required, no missing-shackle risk.
  • Exceptional capacity range: 1,000 to 20,000 kg in a single product family.
  • Wide flange adjustment: Each model fits a range of flange widths.
  • /L long-jaw variants: Extend flange-width range to 305 mm.
  • SC92-20 for very heavy beams: 300-410 mm flange-width jaw, rated to 20,000 kg.
  • Camlok brand quality: Established beam clamp range from CMCO.

Suitable Applications

Wherever a fast, secure rigging anchor or suspension point is needed on an overhead I-beam โ€” hoist suspension for plant maintenance, pulley block anchoring, structural lifting anchor points, scaffold tensioning, temporary rigging for assembly work. The 15 t and 20 t models are popular in heavy structural lifting and turbine maintenance.

How to Use the Camlok SC92

  1. Confirm beam compatibility: Flange width within the SC92 model's adjustment range.
  2. Open the screw-jaw: Back off the Screwlok screw to slide clamp onto the beam flange.
  3. Slide to the rigging location.
  4. Tighten the Screwlok screw firmly: Hand pressure until jaws grip securely. Captive screw prevents loosening.
  5. Connect via integral shackle bow: Pass suspension hook, sling eye, or lifting equipment through the bow.
  6. Test before full load.
  7. Use as a suspension point only: Never use to lift the beam or load directly.

Critical Warning: Suspension point only. Must not be used for lifting the beam itself, lifting the load directly, or any application where the load is borne by the clamp jaws as a lifting attachment. For lifting clamp applications, use a Yale YC or dedicated Camlok lifting clamp.

Safety Information

  • SUSPENSION POINT ONLY โ€” DO NOT USE FOR LIFTING. Refer to the Camlok Technical Bulletin (linked below) for current safety guidance.
  • Confirm the beam structure is rated for the load before attaching.
  • Verify beam flange width within the SC92 model's adjustment range.
  • Never exceed the WLL stamped on the clamp body.
  • Tighten the Screwlok screw firmly โ€” verify no jaw movement before full load.
  • Never use to lift, lower or transport persons.
  • Inspect the integral shackle bow before each use.
  • LOLER 1998 thorough examination every 12 months.

Inspection and Maintenance

Requires inspection of the Screwlok screw threads, jaw faces, clamp body, and integral shackle bow. Refer to the Camlok Technical Bulletin (linked below) for current inspection criteria and product safety updates. Bent jaws, damaged threads, or distorted shackle bows require withdrawal from service. WOLFF Onsite provides LOLER inspection and overhaul services.

Optional Accessories

  • Yale YC alternative: If a lifting-clamp function is required.
  • Camlok BA bulb bar anchor: For bulb profile beams (ships and engine rooms).
  • Larger flange range: /L variants for wider flange profiles.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Why is the SC92 "suspension point only"?

The SC92 is engineered as a rigging anchor โ€” a fixed suspension point that hangs lifting equipment below a beam. Using it as a lifting clamp (gripping and lifting the load or beam directly) puts the clamp jaws and screw mechanism in a load orientation they aren't rated for, with risk of slippage. For lifting-clamp applications use the Yale YC or a dedicated Camlok lifting clamp instead.

Q: What does the /L suffix mean?

/L = Long jaw. The SC92-3/L and SC92-5/L have a longer jaw casting that extends the flange-width range to 305 mm (vs 270 mm on the standard 3 t and 5 t). Useful where the standard model wouldn't fit the available beam.

Q: SC92 or Yale YC โ€” which should I choose?

For capacities up to 10 t and general rigging anchor work, both are suitable. Choose SC92 if the integral shackle attachment is important (no separate shackle, no missing-shackle risk). Choose YC if a direct lifting eye is needed, or if lifting clamp function is required โ€” the YC datasheet permits it; the SC92 does not. For capacities above 10 t (up to 20 t), only the SC92 is available.

Q: How do I read the SC92 model code?

SC92-X where X is capacity in tonnes: SC92-1 = 1 t, SC92-2 = 2 t, etc. /L suffix denotes long-jaw variant. SC92-20 is the 20 t top of range.

Q: What does the Camlok Technical Bulletin cover?

The Camlok Technical Bulletin (RG4927, dated 12-11-25) provides current safety guidance, inspection criteria, and product safety updates for the SC92 range. Always check the latest bulletin before deploying the clamp on a critical application.
