Lifting-gear specialists in Sheffield & London — phone & email

The Pfaff EHH PSE is a manually moved stacker with a powered electric-hydraulic lift, built on a four-load-roller chassis with positive steering. It is designed for occasional stacking and short-distance transport of palletised loads, particularly in confined areas where manoeuvrability matters more than travel speed.

Its 1,280 mm turning radius and 2,145 mm pallet aisle width are the tightest in the Pfaff manual-drive stacker range, and the maintenance-free semi-traction battery charges from any standard 230 V socket, so no dedicated charging installation is needed. Three lift heights are available: 1,600 mm, 2,500 mm and 3,000 mm.

Key Features

  • Powered electric-hydraulic lift — no foot pumping, with overload protection built in
  • Manual operator-walked drive — lower cost and simpler upkeep than a powered-drive stacker
  • Finely metered lowering — pressure relief valve and adjustable lowering valve for controlled load placement
  • Supplied with battery and charger — ready to work on delivery
  • Parking brake retention — the machine is held when parked
  • Precision-profile welded mast with maintenance-free fork carriage guide rollers

Where Is It Used?

The EHH PSE is at its best in tight spaces — narrow stock rooms, plant rooms, workshop corners, mezzanine areas and back-of-house retail. The powered lift makes repeated stacking manageable for a single operator, while the manual drive keeps the machine simple, cheap to run and free of the maintenance regime a powered-drive truck brings with it.

Pre-Use Checks

  1. Confirm the thorough examination is in date and the report is available.
  2. Check the battery charge indicator and that the charging lead is disconnected and stowed before moving off.
  3. Inspect forks for cracks, bending or wear, and check the fork carriage guide rollers run freely.
  4. Test the lift and lower functions through full travel with no load.
  5. Apply and release the parking brake to confirm it holds.
  6. Check load and steering rollers for flats, embedded debris or damage.
  7. Confirm the load is within the rated capacity at 600 mm load centre and is stable on the forks.

Safety

  • Rated capacity applies up to 2.5 m lift height. Above that, refer to the residual capacity chart in the operating manual before lifting.
  • Capacity is quoted at a 600 mm load centre. Loads with a greater centre of gravity distance reduce the safe working load.
  • Never allow anyone to stand beneath a raised load or raised forks.
  • Do not use the stacker to lift or transport people.
  • Travel with the forks lowered and the load tilted back against the fork carriage.
  • Charge the battery in a well-ventilated area in accordance with the manual.
  • Under LOLER 1998 this equipment requires thorough examination at least every 12 months by a competent person.

A stacker lifts as well as moves. Where loads only need moving at floor level, a hand pallet truck is lighter and cheaper.

Certification & Standards
  • CE marked and supplied with EC Declaration of Conformity
  • Designed and manufactured to EN ISO 3691-5 for pedestrian-controlled industrial trucks
  • Manufactured by Pfaff-Silberblau, part of the Columbus McKinnon group
  • Thorough examination required under LOLER 1998 Regulation 9 at intervals not exceeding 12 months

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Is the battery and charger included?

These units are supplied with battery and charger. The manufacturer's datasheet and operating manual differ slightly on this point, so we confirm the exact scope of supply in writing on every order before despatch.

Q: Does the operator need a licence to use it?

No forklift licence is required, because the stacker is walked by the operator rather than driven. Employers must still provide competent-operator instruction and ensure the machine is used within its rated capacity.

Q: What is the difference between the EHH PS and the EHH PSE?

Both are manually walked with a powered lift. The PSE has a tighter turning radius and a four-load-roller chassis, making it the better choice in confined spaces, while the PS range offers higher capacities up to 1,200 kg and lift heights up to 3,500 mm.

Q: How is the battery charged?

From a standard mains socket using the supplied charger. The EHH PSE uses a maintenance-free semi-traction battery that charges from any 230 V plug socket.

Q: Can it lift its full rated capacity to maximum height?

The rated capacity applies up to 2.5 m of lift. Above that height the safe working load reduces — check the residual capacity chart in the operating manual before lifting.

Q: Does it need a LOLER inspection?

Yes. As lifting equipment used at work it requires thorough examination by a competent person at intervals not exceeding 12 months, and after any exceptional event.

Q: Will it fit through a standard doorway?

Overall width across the range is 750 mm to 850 mm depending on model, so most units pass through a standard commercial doorway. Check the specification table for the exact model and confirm your mast retracted height against any low headroom.

Q: What lead time should I expect?

These are built to order and lead times vary by model. Contact us for current availability before placing your order.
