Where Is the W-20 GL Used?

The integrated weigh-scale pallet truck is the right tool wherever transport and weighing happen in close sequence: goods-in receipt checking (verifying delivered weight against the despatch note); pre-load weight verification before tail-lift loading; internal stock control where weight-based inventory matters; recipe and batch weighing in production environments; and waste and recycling operations where waste streams are billed by weight.

The integrated system saves time over the alternative workflow of transferring the load onto a floor scale or platform scale and back again. For high-volume operations, the time saving compounds — an operation doing 50 goods-in checks per day saves typically 30 to 45 minutes of double-handling per shift.

It is not the right tool where legal-for-trade weighing is required. Customs declarations, weighbridge submissions, and certified-weight invoicing all require NAWI-approved equipment. The integrated scale here is for internal use only.

Recommended Pre-Use Checks

1. Visually inspect the forks, frame, and connecting rods for damage.
2. Check the load rollers and steering rollers for free rotation.
3. Power on the display and confirm a stable zero reading with no load on the forks.
4. Test the lift and lower functions through full travel.
5. If a calibration weight is available, place it on the forks and confirm the reading is within the rated accuracy.
6. Confirm the hydraulic system holds pressure for 30 seconds unladen.
7. Inspect for hydraulic oil leaks — oil contamination of the load cells can cause drift.
8. Verify the data plate and calibration certificate are current.

Safety Information

• Distribute the load evenly across both forks for accurate weighing — an off-centre load can read significantly low or high.

• Rated for ambient temperature -10°C to +50°C. Temperature drift may affect weighing accuracy at the extremes of the range — re-zero after significant temperature changes.
• Inspect annually under PUWER 1998 and BGV D27. Re-calibrate the weighing system at the same interval (or more often if accuracy matters).
