Pfaff-Silberblau HV 0516 Light-Duty Hand Stacker

500 kg Capacity | 1,600 mm Lift | Hand Hydraulic Mast | CE Marked

The Pfaff-Silberblau HV 0516 is the light-duty single-mast hand stacker for operations that need 1,600 mm lift but don't require the 1,000 kg capacity of the standard HV range. The reduced capacity (500 kg) allows for a lighter, more compact chassis that is easier to manoeuvre in tight spaces and lighter to handle for the operator. Suitable for goods that arrive on light pallets, plastic stock crates, light-duty workstation loading, and any application where weight rarely exceeds half a tonne. Hand-pumped hydraulic mast, integrated parking brake, PA/PUR roller specification. Engineered and manufactured by Pfaff-Silberblau (Columbus McKinnon Group).

CE Marked & EN 1757-1 Compliant

Supplied with an EC Declaration of Conformity under EU Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC. Manufactured in compliance with EN 1757-1 (Pedestrian-controlled stacker trucks) and harmonised standards DIN EN ISO 12100-1 and DIN EN ISO 12100-2.

Key Features

  • 500 kg capacity, 1,600 mm lift — the lightest of the Pfaff stacker range, sized for goods that don't need the full 1,000 kg of the standard HV models.
  • Compact and easier to manoeuvre — the reduced chassis weight makes the HV 0516 easier to push, steer, and position in tight working spaces. It is the right choice where the truck handles many short journeys rather than long-distance moves.
  • Hand-pumped hydraulic mast — no electrical supply required.
  • Integrated parking brake — standard on all Pfaff stackers, including this light-duty variant. Essential for any stacker with a raised load.
  • PA / PUR roller combination — polyamide steering rollers (harder, longer-life on rough floors) and polyurethane load rollers (quieter, lower-marking on hard floors).
  • Standard 1,150 mm fork length — compatible with UK and Euro pallets.
  • Powder-coated steel construction — built for daily commercial use despite the lighter chassis.

Where Is the HV 0516 Used?

The HV 0516 is the right specification wherever stacker functionality is needed but the loads are consistently under 500 kg. Retail backrooms moving cardboard cartons onto fixtures, workshop tool stores moving parts crates onto bench levels, hospital pharmacies moving drug-distribution containers, and small-parts manufacturing operations where the typical work pallet weighs 200 to 400 kg.

It is also the right choice for operations specifying a stacker primarily for the manoeuvrability and lower operator effort — the lighter chassis is significantly easier to push and steer in confined spaces than the standard HV. Where speed of working matters more than raw capacity, the HV 0516 outperforms heavier alternatives.

Recommended Pre-Use Checks

  1. Visually inspect the forks, mast, and frame for damage.
  2. Check the mast guides and lift chains for free movement.
  3. Check the load rollers and steering rollers for free rotation.
  4. Test the lift function from fully lowered to fully raised, unladen.
  5. Test the lower function — smooth and controllable from any height.
  6. Test the parking brake — engages and releases positively.
  7. Confirm the hydraulic system holds pressure at the raised position for 30 seconds.
  8. Inspect for hydraulic oil leaks.
  9. Verify the data plate is legible.

Safety

  • Do not exceed the 500 kg safe working load.
  • Do not use to lift personnel.
  • Distribute the load evenly across both forks.
  • Always engage the parking brake before lifting or lowering.
  • Do not move the truck under load with the forks fully raised. Lower before travelling.
  • Stack only on stable, level surfaces.
  • Inspect lifting chains at every annual examination.
  • Rated for ambient temperature -10°C to +50°C.
  • Inspect annually under PUWER 1998 and BGV D27.

Frequently Asked Questions

When should I choose this over the HV 1016?
Choose the HV 0516 if your typical load is consistently under 500 kg and you value the lighter, easier-to-handle chassis. Choose the HV 1016 if you occasionally lift loads up to 1,000 kg at the lowered position, or if you need the slightly heavier construction for high-cycle use.
Does the lighter capacity affect lift performance?
No — the lift mechanism is sized for the rated 500 kg with normal safety factor. The mast lifts at similar speeds to the heavier HV 1016 because the load is correspondingly lower. The advantage of the lighter chassis is in the operator's pushing and steering effort, not in the lift cycle.
Will the 500 kg rating reduce at full lift like the heavier HV stackers?
The 500 kg figure is the SWL for the raised position. At the lowered position the truck can handle slightly more (working as a pallet truck) but the rated SWL is the maximum at any lift height.
Same fork dimensions as a standard pallet truck?
Yes — 540 mm outside fork width, 1,150 mm fork length. Compatible with all UK and Euro pallets entered from any side.
What is the typical use case?
Retail backroom stacking, workshop tool stores, hospital pharmacies, light-parts manufacturing, and any operation where loads are consistently 200-400 kg and the truck spends most of its time on short journeys in tight spaces.
Annual inspection requirements?
PUWER 1998 annual examination by a competent person. Mast and lifting chains in particular.
