Yale AJS and AJH Aluminium Hydraulic Jacks

Capacities 6.5 - 100 Tonnes | Aluminium Alloy Construction | 1.8 Tons Lifting Capacity per kg Weight

The Yale AJS and AJH range comprises aluminium hydraulic jacks with capacities from 6.5 to 100 tonnes. Yale specifies high tensile aluminium alloy construction, resulting in a 1.8 tons lifting capacity per 1 kg weight ratio. The jacks are supplied ready for use including hydraulic oil, operating lever and (where applicable) carrying handle and lifting claw.

Aluminium hydraulic jacks combining light weight with high lifting capacity

Yale documentation describes three variants of the aluminium jack range: standard plain piston, with lifting claw, and with safety lock nut. Important constraints per Yale: standard jacks with plain piston AND jacks with safety lock nuts CANNOT be used with a lifting claw. The 6.5 and 10 tonnes jacks can be operated in any position (also upside down) and are equipped with spring return piston and stop ring. The 20 to 100 tonnes jacks can be operated vertically or front face horizontally. All jacks have an overload protection valve; from 20 tonnes capacity they include an additional mechanical stroke limiter.

Applications

Per Yale: workshops or on site for all kinds of lifting and assembly applications, for construction, ship building, power plants, general engineering, metal fabrication and many more. The lifting claw variants (20 t and larger) have an elongated base plate and a maximum permissible working load on the claw of 40% of the jack capacity. Safety lock nut variants (20 t+) allow absolute safe jacking over a long period - the hydraulic jack can operate like a mechanical support with the hydraulic system totally released.

Key Features

  • Aluminium Alloy Construction: 1.8 tons lifting capacity per kg weight ratio.
  • Strokes from 75 to 305 mm: model-dependent.
  • Extremely Low Weight: Yale-specified design priority.
  • Three Variants: standard, with lifting claw, with safety lock nut.
  • 6.5 and 10 t Jacks Operable in Any Position: including upside down, with spring return piston and stop ring.
  • 20 - 100 t Jacks Operate Vertically or Front Face Horizontally: Yale-specified orientation.
  • Overload Protection Valve on All Jacks: Yale standard safety feature.
  • Mechanical Stroke Limiter from 20 t Capacity: additional safety on larger jacks.
  • Hardened Alloy Steel Saddle on All Jacks: Yale-specified.
  • Sensitive Lowering Valve Activated by Operating Lever: controlled lowering.
  • Long-Stroke Variants (305 mm) with Elongated Base Plate: for stability.
  • Lifting Claw Capacity = 40% of Jack Capacity: Yale-specified working limit.
  • Safety Lock Nut Variants Operate Like Mechanical Supports: with hydraulic system released.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can the AJS be operated upside down?
Yes for 6.5 and 10 tonne models. Yale specifies the AJS-65 and AJS-104 can be operated in any position (also upside down) and are equipped with spring return piston and stop ring. 20 - 100 tonne jacks operate vertically or front face horizontally only.
What's the lifting claw capacity?
Yale specifies the maximum permissible working load of the lifting claw as 40% of the jack capacity. e.g. an AJH-620 C (20 t jack with claw) has 8 t permissible claw capacity.
Can standard jacks be used with a lifting claw?
No. Yale states standard jacks with plain piston AND jacks with safety lock nuts cannot be used with a lifting claw. The claw variants have an elongated base plate specifically designed for claw operation.
What's the safety lock nut?
Yale specifies the safety lock nut allows absolute safe jacking over a long period - the hydraulic jack can operate like a mechanical support and the hydraulic system can be totally released. Available on 20 t+ variants (designated SR).
From which capacity is the stroke limiter fitted?
Yale specifies a mechanical stroke limiter from 20 tonnes capacity.
What overload protection?
Yale specifies all jacks are provided with an overload protection valve.
