Yale Webbing Anchor Sling 800mm CMHAZ90080

Model CMHAZ90080 | 800mm Webbing Anchor Sling | Wrap-Around Anchor Point Creation | EN 795 Class B Compliant

The Yale CMHAZ90080 Webbing Anchor Sling is an 800 mm long webbing sling used to create a temporary anchor point by wrapping around a structural element such as a steel beam, scaffold tube or column. Two terminated loops allow connection of a snap hook or karabiner to complete the anchor, and the sling is EN 795 Class B compliant as a transportable anchor device. Manufactured by Columbus McKinnon under the Yale brand, supplied with a test certificate.

Key Features

  • 800 mm length โ€” wraps around standard structural elements โ€” beams, tubes, columns
  • Sewn terminated loops at each end โ€” accept a snap hook or karabiner for connection to the fall protection system
  • Polyester webbing โ€” abrasion-resistant, UV-stable, lightweight
  • EN 795 Class B โ€” certified transportable anchor device
  • Lightweight and portable โ€” easily carried on the harness or in the PPE bag
  • Creates temporary anchor โ€” ideal where no fixed anchor is available

Technical Specifications

Model Part Number Length Construction Standard
CMHAZ90080 N4300006129 800 mm Polyester webbing with sewn terminated loops BS EN 795 Class B

Wrap-around anchor sling for creating temporary anchor points on structural elements. Always verify the structural element is rated for at least 12 kN before use as an anchor.

CMCO Group | EN ISO 9001 Certified | EN 795 Class B Compliant | CE Marked

This product is manufactured by Columbus McKinnon under the Yale lifting brand to EN ISO 9001 quality management standards. Compliant with BS EN 795 Class B for transportable anchor devices. Supplied with a manufacturer's test certificate and CE Declaration of Conformity. PPE Regulation (EU) 2016/425 Category III. Thorough examinations every 6 months by a competent person.

Suitable Applications

Suited to creating temporary anchor points by wrapping around structural elements such as steel beams, scaffold tubes, columns, or roof structural elements. Particularly useful for maintenance and inspection work where a fixed anchor is not available and the work duration is short.

How to Use the Anchor Sling

  1. Inspect the webbing and stitching for damage before each use.
  2. Verify the structural element you plan to anchor to is rated for at least 12 kN (typically a structural steel beam or certified scaffold tube).
  3. Wrap the sling around the structural element so that both terminated loops are accessible from the same side.
  4. Pass one loop through the other to form a choker hitch, or connect both loops to a single connector for a basket hitch.
  5. Connect the snap hook of the lanyard or block to the loop(s).
  6. Verify the anchor is rigid and the sling is correctly oriented before applying load.

Warning:
The structural element used as the anchor must be verified as rated to at least 12 kN. Inspecting the structural element is the user's responsibility. Webbing slings must not be used over sharp edges without edge protection โ€” sharp edges can cut through the webbing under fall arrest load.

Safety Information

  • Always inspect the sling and the structural anchor before each use.
  • Verify the structural element is rated for at least 12 kN.
  • Always use edge protection where the sling passes over sharp edges.
  • Always load the sling along its major axis โ€” never twist or knot the sling.
  • Never modify the sling.
  • Withdraw from service if any cuts, fraying, burns, or chemical damage is found.
  • Replace the sling every 10 years from first use, or sooner if inspection reveals damage.

Inspection and Maintenance

Inspect the webbing and stitching for cuts, fraying, burns, or chemical damage before each use. Clean using warm water and mild detergent only. Air-dry away from direct heat. Store in a clean, dry place away from sunlight and chemicals. Thorough examination by a competent person every 6 months. Maximum service life 10 years from first use, subject to inspection.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What is an anchor sling used for?

It creates a temporary anchor point by wrapping around a structural element such as a steel beam, scaffold tube, or column. Used where no fixed anchor is available for the working task.

Q: How do I verify the structural anchor is strong enough?

The structural element you anchor to must be rated for at least 12 kN (typical fall arrest anchor strength requirement). Verify with the structural design or a competent person โ€” assuming all steelwork is rated to 12 kN is not safe.

Q: Can the sling be used over sharp edges?

Webbing can be cut by sharp edges under fall arrest load. If the sling must pass over a sharp edge, use edge protection to prevent cutting.

Q: What is the difference between a choker hitch and a basket hitch?

A choker hitch passes one loop through the other, tightening on the structural element under load. A basket hitch connects both loops to a single connector with the sling forming a basket around the element. Choker hitch reduces the effective strength of the sling โ€” refer to the operating manual for the rated strength in each configuration.

Q: How long does the sling last?

Service life up to 10 years from first use, subject to inspection condition. Withdraw immediately if any damage is found.

Q: Is a test certificate included?

Yes โ€” supplied with each sling.

Q: How often must the sling be inspected?

Pre-use inspection and thorough examination by a competent person every 6 months.
