Lifting-gear specialists in Sheffield & London — phone & email

A folding crane is the right answer where lifting is occasional rather than continuous. It does the job when needed and then folds flat against a wall, rather than occupying a bay of floor space for the eleven months of the year it is not in use.

Manual hydraulic lift with a straddle-leg frame, available at 1000kg and 2000kg. Because the legs pass either side of the load, check that your loads sit clear of the floor or on an open base — for machine beds and flush loads a counterbalanced crane is the correct choice.

Key Features

  • Folds flat for storage — stores against a wall rather than occupying floor space
  • Manual hydraulic lift — no power supply, battery or charging point required
  • Straddle leg frame — stable footprint with the load carried between the legs
  • Heavy-duty swivel hook — with safety catch fitted as standard
  • Two capacities — 1000kg and 2000kg models available

CE Marked | 12-Month On-Site Warranty

Supplied by Warrior, part of the Handling Equipment UK range. Manufactured to CE / UKCA standards and supplied with a declaration of conformity where applicable. Lift tables are issued with a test certificate to EN 1570 on request.

Warranty

Every Warrior product is supplied with a full 12-month on-site warranty covering parts and labour at no additional cost. Cover starts from the date of delivery and repairs are carried out at your premises rather than under a return-to-base arrangement. A comprehensive UK spare parts stock is held for every model in the range, and servicing, repair and statutory inspection can be arranged through WOLFF Onsite.

Suitable Applications

Vehicle workshops, plant maintenance, engineering workshops, agricultural workshops and any operation where lifting is occasional and storage space is at a premium.

How to Use

  1. Unfold the crane on level ground and confirm all locking pins are engaged.
  2. Set the jib to the position that gives the required capacity.
  3. Position the legs either side of the load.
  4. Attach the load and engage the hook safety catch.
  5. Lift smoothly, keep the load low while moving, and lower under control before folding.

Warning: Confirm every locking pin is fully engaged before lifting. Never lift with the frame partially unfolded or any pin not seated.

Safety Information

  • Never exceed the rated capacity for the jib position in use — capacity falls as the jib extends.
  • Keep the load low while travelling and never travel with the jib fully extended under load.
  • Use the safety catch on the hook and never side-load the jib.
  • Keep all personnel clear of the load path throughout the lift.
  • Confirm all locking pins are engaged before every lift.

Inspection and Maintenance

Inspect the hook, safety catch, chain or rope, hydraulic ram and pivot pins before each use. A counterbalanced crane is lifting equipment under LOLER 1998 and requires a thorough examination by a competent person every 12 months. WOLFF Onsite can arrange this.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Folding or counterbalanced — which do I need?

Folding suits occasional lifting where storage space matters and the load can be straddled. Counterbalanced is required where the load sits on a machine bed, a bench or flush against a wall.

Q: How much space does it take folded?

It stores flat against a wall. Exact folded dimensions vary by model — please enquire for the specific model you are considering.

Q: Does it need LOLER inspection?

Yes. A crane suspends its load, so a thorough examination by a competent person is required every 12 months regardless of how infrequently it is used.

Q: How does capacity change with jib position?

Rated capacity reduces as the jib extends, because the load moves further from the pivot. Each model has five positions with a stated capacity for each — work from the chart, not the maximum figure.

Q: Does it need LOLER inspection?

Yes. A crane suspends its load, which brings it under LOLER 1998. A thorough examination by a competent person is required every 12 months. We can arrange this alongside your other lifting equipment.

Q: What is covered by the warranty?

A full 12 months from delivery, parts and labour, carried out on your site.
