Model CMHAZ023 | 60mm Light Alloy Snap Hook | Large Gate Opening | EN 362 Compliant | CMCO Group Manufacture
The Yale CMHAZ023 Light Alloy Snap Hook is a large-gate connector with a 60 mm gate opening, designed for connection to structural elements that are too large for a standard 18 mm hook โ such as scaffold tubes, structural steel sections, or large anchor eyes. Constructed from light aluminium alloy for reduced weight compared to a steel hook of equivalent gate opening. EN 362 compliant and rated to a minimum strength of 22 kN. Manufactured by Columbus McKinnon under the Yale lifting brand, supplied with a manufacturer's test certificate.
This product is manufactured by Columbus McKinnon under the Yale lifting brand to EN ISO 9001 quality management standards. Compliant with BS EN 362 for personal fall protection connectors, Class B (basic connectors). Supplied with a manufacturer's test certificate and CE Declaration of Conformity. Large gate opening accepts scaffold tubes, structural steel sections, and large anchor eyes. Light alloy construction reduces weight compared to steel hooks.
Used where the anchor or attachment point is too large for a standard 18 mm hook โ scaffold tubes, structural steel sections, large anchor eyes, master links. The light alloy construction also makes it suitable for applications where reducing the user's carried weight is important.
Warning: Always verify the gate is fully closed and locked before applying load. Never load across the gate (minor axis). Light alloy connectors can lose strength faster than steel if subjected to impact damage โ withdraw immediately if any dents or distortion are found.
Inspect for distortion, cracks, gate function, and wear before each use. Clean using warm water and mild detergent only. Air-dry. Lubricate the gate spring sparingly with a light dry lubricant if the gate becomes stiff. Store in a clean, dry place away from corrosive chemicals. Thorough examination by a competent person every 6 months. Service life depends on use intensity โ withdraw immediately if any damage is found.
Choose the light alloy hook when the gate opening of the steel hook (18 mm) is too small for the attachment point โ for example connecting directly to a scaffold tube (48 mm), structural steel section, or large anchor eye. Also choose light alloy when reducing carried weight on the harness is important.
The CMHAZ023 light alloy hook is rated to the same minimum strength as the standard steel snap hook (22 kN along the major axis). However, light alloy is less tolerant of impact damage โ inspect carefully and withdraw at the first sign of impact or distortion.
Yes. The spring-loaded gate self-closes when released. Always verify the gate is fully closed before applying load.
Yes โ the 60 mm gate opening fits standard 48 mm scaffold tubes with margin for safe gate clearance.
Yes, provided the gate opening is appropriate for the attachment point and the connector is loaded along the major axis. EN 362 Class B basic connector.
Pre-use inspection by the operator, thorough examination by a competent person every 6 months. Inspect carefully for impact damage at every check.
Yes โ supplied with each connector.
