The Yale Yalelift IT ATEX combines the Yalelift 360 hand chain hoist with an integrated low-headroom manual trolley, providing both vertical lifting and lateral beam travel from a single ATEX-certified unit. Available in Push (YLITP) and Geared (YLITG) trolley configurations across capacities from 500 kg to 10000 kg. The stepless trolley adjustment system fits a wide range of beam profiles, while the solid bronze wheels (Medium and High designs) handle beam inclines up to 14%.

Key Features

  • Integrated low-headroom design — Up to 3000 kg uses single chain fall with reduced headroom (Dim. A) — ideal for low ceiling installations.
  • Stepless trolley adjustment — Quick assembly and beam-width adjustment using approved adjusting nuts.
  • Push or Geared trolley options — YLITP for occasional positioning; YLITG for precise manual traversing under load.
  • Solid bronze wheels (Medium/High) — Designed for beam profile incline up to 14% per DIN 1025-1.
  • Wide beam compatibility — Range A covers flange widths up to 180 mm (80% of applications); Range B covers up to 300 mm.
  • All Yalelift 360 hoist benefits — 360° rotating hand chain guide, robust stamped steel housing and MKS spark-resistant coating.
  • ATEX Zone 1 / Zone 21 certified — Medium classification — II 2G Ex h IIB T4 Gb / II 2D Ex h IIIB T135 °C Db.

ATEX Directive 2014/34/EU | Zone 1 & Zone 21 | Medium Classification

Certified to ATEX Directive 2014/34/EU for Zone 1 and Zone 21 atmospheres under Medium classification (II 2G Ex h IIB T4 Gb / II 2D Ex h IIIB T135 °C Db). Supplied with EC Declaration of Conformity and CE marking. Suitable for the majority of industrial gas and dust hazards.

Suitable Applications

Process plant maintenance, production lines and assembly stations within chemical, petrochemical, pharmaceutical and offshore environments where overhead lifting must be combined with lateral load movement along a beam — without the need for separate trolley and hoist units. Where the hoist and trolley are specified separately, see the beam trolleys and trolley clamps range, or the standard ITP ATEX and ITG ATEX integrated models.

How to Use the Yalelift IT ATEX

  1. Inspect the hoist visually before each use — check the chain, hook and safety latch for damage.
  2. Confirm the rated capacity marked on the hoist is not less than the load to be lifted.
  3. Attach the suspension hook or lug to a verified, certified anchor point.
  4. Engage the load hook centrally with the load and confirm the safety latch is closed.
  5. Operate the hand chain smoothly to lift, lower or hold the load.
  6. Lower the load fully and disconnect before leaving the equipment.

Warning:

Confirm beam flange width and profile match the trolley specification before installation. Operating the trolley on an unsuitable beam profile risks derailment and uncontrolled load movement.

Safety Information

  • Confirm the ATEX zone classification of the work area matches the equipment certification before use.
  • Never exceed the rated working load limit displayed on the equipment.
  • Never use equipment that shows visible damage, wear or deformation.
  • Keep all personnel clear of the lifted load at all times.
  • Do not modify, repair or substitute components other than as specified by the manufacturer.
  • Ensure the operator is trained, competent and authorised for ATEX lifting operations.

Inspection and Maintenance

Inspect before each use — focus on all load-bearing components, welds, hooks, safety latches, chain, rope and pendant controls. Thorough examination under LOLER 1998 is required at intervals not exceeding 6 months by a competent person. Replacement parts must be genuine manufacturer items to maintain certification. Records of all inspections must be retained for the life of the equipment.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What is the difference between YLITP (Push) and YLITG (Geared) variants?

YLITP uses a push trolley — the operator manually pushes the load along the beam. YLITG uses a geared trolley operated via a hand chain — the operator turns the chain to drive the trolley along the beam with mechanical advantage. Geared trolleys provide precise positioning and easier movement under heavy loads.

Q: What beam flange widths are compatible?

Range A (standard) fits flange widths up to 180 mm and covers approximately 80% of applications. Range B is available for flange widths up to 300 mm. Trolleys can typically be adjusted across IPE, IPB and similar standard beam profiles.

Q: Can the trolley negotiate beam curves?

Standard YLITP and YLITG trolleys are designed for straight beam travel. Curved beam applications require a specific trolley specification — contact us with your beam radius and we will advise.
