The Yale CTP is an integral trolley clamp that converts any suitable overhead I-beam into a temporary attachment and load-transport point — no permanent installation required. Hung directly onto the lower flange and secured by a central threaded spindle, it gives a quick rigging point that repositions by loosening, sliding and re-tightening, with the spindle and clevis zinc-plated for corrosion protection. Two size variants (A for narrow flanges, B for wide) cover the standard beam range — particularly useful for maintenance and one-off lifts where a permanent runway track isn't justified.

Key Features

  • Central threaded spindle: Quick adjustment to required beam flange width — no extra tools.
  • Zinc-plated spindle and clevis: Corrosion protection for outdoor and humid industrial environments.
  • Easy fitting: Slide onto flange, set spindle, tighten — quick install without dismantling structure.
  • Three capacity tiers: 1,000 / 2,000 / 3,000 kg.
  • Two size variants on 2 t/3 t models: A-size 75-200 mm; B-size 200-320 mm. 1 t is A-size only.
  • Compact headroom: From 82 mm (CTP 1-A) — much more compact than permanent trolleys.
  • Low minimum curve radius: Down to 0.6 m for CTP 1-A — suitable for tight monorail layouts.

More About This Product

The Yale CTP is an integral trolley clamp that converts any suitable overhead I-beam into a temporary attachment and load-transport point — no permanent installation required. Hung directly onto the lower flange and secured by a central threaded spindle, the CTP gives a quick rigging point that can be repositioned by loosening the spindle, sliding to the new location, and re-tightening. The spindle and clevis are zinc-plated for corrosion protection. Two size variants (A narrow flanges, B wide flanges) cover the standard beam profile range. Particularly useful for maintenance and one-off lifts where a permanent runway track isn't justified.

Suitable Applications

For temporary monorail attachment, plant and equipment installation lifts, maintenance and repair lifts where a permanent runway track doesn't exist, structural steel hangs, and any application where a small chain hoist needs to be attached to an overhead beam for a defined task. Moved as needed, stored when not in use, clamps to virtually any suitable I-beam. For a fixed suspension point without integral trolley travel, see the Camlok YC or SC92 screwlok beam clamps; where the load must travel along the beam under load, use an HTG geared trolley instead.

How to Use the Yale CTP

  1. Confirm beam compatibility: Flange width within range; thickness max 15 mm (CTP 1-A) or 25 mm (others).
  2. Slide onto flange: Open spindle far enough to slide clamp onto the flange (from beam end or break).
  3. Position at working location.
  4. Tighten the spindle: Turn threaded spindle until the clamp grips the flange firmly with no movement.
  5. Attach hoist: Hook suspension to CTP clevis. Engage safety latch.
  6. Inspect after first load: Confirm spindle remains tight.

Warning: Confirm the supporting structure can take the load before applying the hoist. Yale hoists and trolleys are not designed for passenger elevation.

Safety Information

  • Confirm the beam structure is rated for the load before attaching the CTP.
  • Verify beam flange width and thickness within rated range.
  • Never exceed the Working Load Limit.
  • Check spindle tightness before each lift.
  • Never use to lift, lower or transport persons.
  • Do not use as a horizontal pulling anchor — designed for vertical suspension only.
  • LOLER 1998 thorough examination every 12 months.

Inspection and Maintenance

Requires inspection of spindle threads, clevis, clamp body and zinc plating. Spindle thread wear, deformation of clamp jaws, or loss of zinc plating on critical surfaces requires withdrawal from service. WOLFF Onsite provides LOLER inspection and overhaul services.

Optional Accessories

  • Yale YC beam clamp alternative: For higher capacities (up to 10,000 kg) and screw-jaw design.
  • Yale HTP push trolley: If you need to move the load along the beam after suspension.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What's the difference between the CTP and the YC beam clamp?

CTP is an integral trolley clamp with a load-bearing clevis below the clamp body — suits monorail suspension applications. YC is a screw-jaw beam clamp designed primarily as a rigging anchor point. For typical chain block suspension up to 3,000 kg, CTP is more compact and quicker to fit. For higher capacities (5,000-10,000 kg), YC is the answer.

Q: Can I use the CTP to traverse loads along the beam?

No — CTP is fixed-position suspension only. To move loads along a beam, use a Yale HTP push or HTG geared trolley. The CTP doesn't have wheels — it grips the flange in one position.

Q: What size do I need — A or B?

A-size for narrow flanges (60-200 mm depending on capacity); B-size for wide flanges (200-320 mm). Measure your beam before ordering — not interchangeable. The 1,000 kg CTP is A-size only (60-150 mm).

Q: Is the CTP suitable for outdoor use?

Yes — the zinc-plated spindle and clevis provide good corrosion protection for outdoor and humid industrial environments. For continuous outdoor exposure (offshore, marine), a stainless steel option is worth specifying — contact us for non-standard variants.
