Lifting-gear specialists in Sheffield & London — phone & email

The P Series is Pramac's professional portable line for mobile applications: diesel or petrol, open frame, and built to be moved around site rather than installed. Five builds cover the P6000 at 186kg through the P11000 at 325kg, with a petrol P12000 on a Honda GX630. Configuration varies deliberately by model — wheel kits, CONN connectors for external control, AVR, differential protection and on the P11000 400V AMF an automatic mains failure panel fitted from the factory.

Emissions Compliance

Stage V certified. Every model in this range meets the Stage V non-road mobile machinery emissions standard, which is a condition of entry on many local authority, London and principal contractor sites.

The P11000 400V and 400V AMF both use the Yanmar 3TNV70. The AMF model is three phase and also provides single-phase outputs, which is why single-phase ratings appear in some documentation.

Key Features

  • AMF fitted from the factory — the P11000 400V AMF arrives with an Automatic Mains Failure panel, so it starts on loss of mains without accessories being added.
  • Stage V certified diesel and petrol — the Yanmar L100 and 3TNV70 diesels and the Honda GX630 petrol all meet the current non-road standard.
  • 230/110V dual voltage — the UK construction specification, giving 110V for hand tools alongside 230V.
  • CONN connector on the 400V P6000 — allows wireless remote start/stop or an AMF panel to be added later without modification.
  • DPP differential protection — protection against indirect contact, normally required for temporary site distribution.
  • 186kg on the P6000 — light enough to move by telehandler or van tail lift without specialist plant.

Suitable Applications

The P Series suits contractors and hirers needing portable power that is moved between jobs rather than installed: construction, groundworks, utilities, events, and standby for small premises. The 230/110V builds are the UK construction specification. The 400V builds suit pumps, compressors and temporary three-phase distribution. Where noise is a constraint — town centres, residential streets, night work — the P6000S super silenced version is the model to specify instead.

How to Use

  1. Site the generator on firm level ground in the open air with clearance for cooling airflow and exhaust.
  2. Check engine oil and fuel levels before starting.
  3. Confirm the total connected load is within the rating, allowing headroom for motor starting currents.
  4. Start the engine and let it stabilise before applying load.
  5. Connect loads at the socket panel using correctly rated leads.
  6. Shed the load before shutting down, then stop the engine and let it cool before refuelling.

Warning: Never operate a generator indoors, in a partially enclosed space, or anywhere exhaust can reach an occupied area. Exhaust contains carbon monoxide, which is colourless, odourless and fatal.

Safety Information

  • Operate only in the open air, well clear of doors, windows and air intakes.
  • Never refuel a hot or running engine.
  • Do not connect to a building's fixed wiring without a correctly specified changeover arrangement.
  • Use only leads and connectors rated for the outlet, inspected before each use.
  • Keep fuel and flammables away from the exhaust and hot surfaces.
  • Earth the set in accordance with the site electrical arrangement.

Inspection and Maintenance

Check oil, fuel and the air filter daily, and inspect the socket panel, leads and residual current protection before each use. Service intervals follow the engine manufacturer's schedule by running hours. Generators used as work equipment fall under PUWER, and the outlets and any supplied leads fall within the site inspection and test regime.

What's Included

  • P Series mobile generator in the model and configuration ordered
  • Operator manual and engine documentation
  • Wheel kit fitted on WHK builds; AMF fitted on the AMF build only

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Which model for a UK construction site?

The 230/110V builds, which give 110V centre-tapped supply for hand tools alongside 230V. The P6000 230/110V WHK also has a wheel kit for moving around site.

Q: Which one starts automatically on mains failure?

The P11000 400V AMF (PF113TY4002) has the AMF panel fitted. The P6000 400V has the CONN connector so an AMF panel can be added later.

Q: Is there a quieter version?

Yes, the P6000S super silenced range, housed in an acoustic canopy for noise-restricted work. Same Yanmar L100 engine.

Q: Diesel or petrol?

Diesel for lower running cost and longer life under sustained load — most of the range. The P12000 is petrol on a Honda GX630, which is lighter and cheaper to buy.
