Buying guide

What a positioner does

A work positioner holds the load at a comfortable working height and keeps it there as material is added or removed. Spring-loaded versions self-level as weight changes, so the top of the stack stays at roughly the same height throughout.

Matching the spring to the load

Self-levelling positioners are specified against a load range. Outside that range they either sit at the bottom or hold too high, so the weight of the stack matters more than the platform size.

Common questions

How does self-levelling work?

A spring or gas mechanism is matched to the load range so the platform rises as weight is removed. It needs no power.

What if my loads vary a lot?

A powered table may suit better. Self-levelling works within a load range and struggles if the weight varies widely.
