Ratchet straps, chain load binders and lashing equipment for securing loads against braking and cornering forces in transport. Includes lever and ratchet type binders and lashing hooks from GT, plus LiftKing ratchet lashing assemblies.
Load restraint keeps cargo in place under braking, cornering and acceleration. The forces involved are much higher than people expect, and unsecured loads are a common cause of both road incidents and injuries during unloading.
Webbing ratchet straps suit general palletised and boxed loads and are quick to apply. Chain load binders handle plant, steel and anything with sharp edges that would cut webbing. Match the system to the load rather than using what is on the vehicle.
Straps and binders carry a lashing capacity marking, which is not the same as breaking strength. Check the label, and withdraw any strap with cuts, fraying, chemical damage or a damaged ratchet.
It depends on the weight, the friction between load and deck, and the lashing capacity of each strap. Current load securing guidance sets out how to calculate it.

It is the rated working capacity of the strap in use, not its breaking strength. Always work from the marked lashing capacity.
