Welder Generators

Two machines in one

A welder generator combines a welding set with an auxiliary power supply, so one engine-driven unit covers welding and powers tools and lights. That makes it the standard choice for pipework, steel erection and repairs away from a mains supply.

Welding output and duty cycle

Check the welding current range against the electrode sizes you use, and the duty cycle at the current you will work at. Duty cycle is the proportion of time the set can weld at that current before it needs to rest.

Auxiliary power while welding

On many units the auxiliary output is reduced while welding is in progress. If tools need to run at the same time as the weld, check what the set can deliver in both modes together.

Common questions
Can I run tools and weld at the same time?

It depends on the model. Auxiliary output is often reduced while welding, so check the combined figures.

What is duty cycle?

The proportion of time the set can weld at a given current before it needs to cool. Higher current usually means a lower duty cycle.

Can it be used just as a generator?

Yes, within its auxiliary power rating, which is usually lower than a dedicated generator of similar size.

Which brands do you stock for Welder Generators?

We supply Pramac. Ranges vary, so check the brand page for the full listing.
