This is the corrosion-resistant build of the GS EVO, for environments where a painted truck will not survive: food production, dairy, meat and fish processing, pharmaceutical manufacture, chemical handling, cold stores and anywhere subject to regular washdown. Two levels of protection are offered. The galvanised models apply a zinc coating over the standard EVO frame, which resists moisture and cleaning chemicals at a modest premium over a painted truck. The stainless steel model is a different proposition entirely, built in stainless throughout with nylon inox wheels and stainless bearings, for continuous wet operation and aggressive cleaning regimes.

Manufacturer Assurance

Lifter by Pramac is backed by over 40 years of material handling equipment manufacture. All Lifter by Pramac products are designed to meet 100% compliance with current standard regulations, and are subject to internal quality testing for reliability and durability.

Key Features

  • Two levels of corrosion protection — galvanised for damp areas and periodic cleaning, full stainless for continuous wet working and aggressive washdown chemicals.
  • Full 2500kg capacity retained — corrosion resistance costs nothing in load rating; these trucks carry the same weight as the painted GS EVO.
  • Nylon inox wheels on the stainless model — wheels and bearings are specified to match the frame, since a stainless truck running on standard steel bearings will fail at the bearings first.
  • Standard 1150mm fork length — the common pallet dimension, in 525mm width for standard pallets and 685mm for wider pallets and stillages.
  • GS EVO platform underneath — the same reinforced frame, ergonomic tiller and hydraulic control as the standard EVO, so operators move between trucks without retraining.
  • Suited to hygiene-critical areas — smooth, cleanable surfaces and corrosion-resistant materials support the cleaning regimes required in food and pharmaceutical production.

Suitable Applications

Specify the galvanised models for chilled stores, damp goods-in areas, external canopies, breweries and general food distribution where the truck is cleaned regularly but is not standing wet. Specify the stainless model for high-care food production, dairy, meat and fish handling, pharmaceutical and laboratory environments, and chemical processing, where the truck is washed down as part of the daily cleaning schedule and where any rust would be a contamination risk. The price gap between the two is substantial, so the decision is worth making on the actual cleaning regime rather than on general caution. As a rule, if the truck gets hosed down, go stainless; if it gets wiped down, galvanised will do.

How to Use

  1. Confirm the load is within 2500kg and the pallet is sound and clean.
  2. Set the tiller control to lower and bring the forks down fully.
  3. Enter the pallet squarely and drive the forks fully home.
  4. Select lift and pump the tiller until the load clears the floor.
  5. Move the load with the control in neutral, pulling rather than pushing where the route allows.
  6. Lower, release the load and withdraw the forks.
  7. Clean the truck at the end of the shift in line with the site hygiene procedure, and allow it to drain fully.

Warning: Galvanised trucks are corrosion-resistant, not waterproof. Do not pressure-wash a galvanised model or subject it to standing water. Only the stainless steel build is intended for full washdown.

Safety Information

  • Only trained operators should use a hand pallet truck.
  • Take extra care on wet floors, where stopping distances increase and the truck is harder to control.
  • Keep feet clear of the load wheels and the underside of the forks.
  • Do not lift unstable, overhanging or unevenly loaded pallets.
  • Follow the site cleaning procedure and use only cleaning agents compatible with the truck's finish.
  • Withdraw from service if the forks creep under load, the hydraulic unit leaks, or the protective finish is breached.

Inspection and Maintenance

Inspect the finish as well as the mechanism. On galvanised trucks, check for chips and scratches through the zinc coating, since corrosion starts at the breach and spreads underneath. On stainless trucks, check for pitting where cleaning chemicals have been left to dry. Allow trucks to drain and dry after washdown rather than storing them wet. Check wheels, rollers, tiller linkage and hydraulic unit each shift as with any pallet truck, and keep records under PUWER.

What's Included

  • Galvanised or stainless steel hand pallet truck as ordered
  • Corrosion-resistant wheels and bearings matched to the build
  • Operator manual

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Galvanised or stainless steel: which do I need?

Galvanised suits damp environments and periodic cleaning. Stainless is for continuous wet working and full washdown with aggressive chemicals. The practical test is whether the truck is hosed down or wiped down.

Q: Can a galvanised truck be used in food production?

In low-risk and ambient areas, often yes. In high-care production zones with a hosing regime, the stainless model is the appropriate specification. Confirm against your own HACCP requirements rather than relying on a general answer.

Q: Why is the stainless model so much more expensive?

It is not a coating but a change of material throughout: frame, forks, fixings, wheels and bearings are all specified in corrosion-resistant materials. Stainless is costlier to buy and harder to machine and weld, which is reflected in the price.

Q: Is a stainless scissor lift available too?

Yes. The HX10M EVO manual high lift and the HX10E electric high lift are both offered in stainless builds, the electric version rated IP65 for washdown areas.
