Lifting-gear specialists in Sheffield & London — phone & email

The GS EVO is the core hand pallet truck in the Lifter by Pramac range, built for daily pallet movement in warehouses, workshops, stores and goods-in areas. It carries 2500kg across every fork configuration, from the compact 800 x 400mm version for tight aisles and vehicle bodies through to the 2400mm long-fork model for handling twin pallets and oversized loads. The EVO frame uses a reinforced fork profile with an entry-and-exit roller arrangement designed to run smoothly over pallet boards, and the pump is fitted with a three-position control giving lift, neutral and lower from the tiller head without the operator changing grip.

Manufacturer Assurance

Lifter by Pramac is backed by over 40 years of material handling equipment manufacture. All Lifter by Pramac products are designed to meet 100% compliance with current standard regulations, and are subject to internal quality testing for reliability and durability.

Key Features

  • 2500kg rated capacity across the range — every fork length and width in the GS EVO family carries the same 2500kg rating, so the choice is driven by pallet size and aisle width rather than by load weight.
  • Twelve fork configurations — from 800 x 400mm for confined spaces and vehicle bodies to 2400 x 525mm for double-pallet handling, with 685mm wide forks available for wide or Euro-plus pallets.
  • Nylon/Poly steer wheels with poly tandem load rollers — the tandem roller arrangement spreads load over four contact points, reducing point pressure on pallet boards and giving a smoother entry over the bottom deck.
  • Three-position tiller control — lift, neutral and lower are selected at the tiller head, allowing the operator to keep both hands in position throughout the cycle.
  • Reinforced EVO frame — the EVO chassis is the current generation of the Lifter GS platform, designed around the same footprint as the standard GS but with a strengthened fork profile.
  • Assembled tiller and pack options — the 1150 x 525mm model is available as an assembled tiller unit ready for immediate use, or in packs of six for fleet purchase.

Suitable Applications

The GS EVO suits any site moving palletised goods on a flat, sound floor. Typical use is warehouse pick faces, goods-in and goods-out bays, production line feeding, retail stockrooms, cold and dry stores, and loading or unloading curtainsiders and box vans. The 800mm and 1000mm short-fork models are the usual choice where the truck has to work inside a vehicle body or in a tight aisle. The 1800mm, 2000mm and 2400mm long-fork models are specified where two pallets are handled in line, or where long timber, board and profile loads are moved on stillages. Where the floor is uneven, sloped or outdoors, a powered truck from the EY, CX or Agile ranges is the more appropriate choice.

How to Use

  1. Check the load weight against the 2500kg rating and confirm the pallet is sound and evenly loaded.
  2. Set the tiller control to the lowering position so the forks sit at their lowest point.
  3. Enter the pallet squarely, driving the forks fully home so the load sits over the full fork length.
  4. Move the tiller control to the lift position and pump the tiller to raise the forks clear of the floor.
  5. Set the control to neutral and move the load, keeping the truck in front of you and pulling rather than pushing where possible.
  6. At the destination, set the control to lower, release the load to the floor, and withdraw the forks squarely.

Warning: Never exceed the 2500kg rated capacity, never ride on the truck, and never use the truck on gradients or uneven ground. Manual pallet trucks have no brake — on any slope the load will run away from the operator.

Safety Information

  • Only trained operators should use a hand pallet truck.
  • Keep feet clear of the load wheels and the underside of the forks at all times.
  • Do not use the truck to transport people.
  • Do not lift a load that is unstable, overhanging or unevenly distributed across the forks.
  • Withdraw the truck from service immediately if the hydraulic unit leaks, the forks creep down under load, or a wheel is damaged or seized.
  • Store the truck with the forks fully lowered.

Inspection and Maintenance

Carry out a pre-use visual check on every shift, covering the wheels and rollers, the tiller and pump linkage, and the hydraulic unit for leaks or creep. Keep the load rollers free of banding, shrink wrap and debris, as wrapped rollers are the most common cause of a truck becoming heavy to push. Grease the wheel bearings and the pump linkage at the intervals given in the operator manual. Any pallet truck used as work equipment falls under PUWER, so keep a record of inspections and take out of service anything that fails a check.

What's Included

  • GS EVO hand pallet truck in the fork size ordered
  • 3D ergonomic tiller — fitted on AT codes, loose on P6 pack codes
  • Operator manual

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Which fork length should I choose?

For standard UK and Euro pallets, the 1150mm fork is the default. Choose 1000mm or 800mm where the truck has to work inside a vehicle body or a tight aisle, and 1800mm to 2400mm where two pallets are handled in line or the load overhangs a single pallet.

Q: What is the difference between 525mm and 685mm fork width?

525mm is the standard overall fork width and enters the fork pockets of a conventional pallet. 685mm is used for wider pallets, stillages and cages where the pockets are set further apart. Check the pocket centres on your pallets before ordering.

Q: What does EVO mean compared with the standard GS?

EVO is the current generation of the GS platform. It shares the same operating footprint as the standard GS but uses a reinforced fork profile and poly tandem load rollers rather than the nylon tandem rollers fitted to the base GS.

Q: Can the GS EVO be used outdoors?

It is designed for sound, level indoor floors. Occasional use on smooth, level external hardstanding is possible, but rough ground, gradients and prolonged wet exposure will shorten the life of the rollers and hydraulic unit. For those conditions, specify the galvanised or stainless GS EVO, or a powered truck.

Q: Is a corrosion-resistant version available?

Yes. The GS EVO is offered in a galvanised finish and in a full stainless steel build with stainless nylon inox wheels, for food production, pharmaceutical, chemical and washdown environments.
