The Yale ASH1 weld-on hook is the lightest-duty variant in the Yale ASH range, rated for a 1000kg working load limit and designed to be welded onto trucks, excavators, low loaders, big bag frames, spreader beams and custom lifting attachments. The hook and forged safety latch are epoxy resin coated for added corrosion protection, with a stainless steel return spring, and every hook carries an identification number for full traceability back through forging to the material origin.

Key Features

  • Forged steel construction for high-strength, repeatable performance.
  • Forged safety latch with high lateral stability and ergonomic shape.
  • Stainless steel return spring for long service life in outdoor and corrosive environments.
  • Epoxy resin coating on the hook and safety latch for added corrosion protection.
  • No weld preparation required — can be welded without pre-warming.
  • 1000kg WLL ideal for light-duty applications and big bag frames.
  • Identification number on every hook for full traceability.

Technical Specifications

Model WLL
ASH1 1000 kg

Refer to the Yale ASH datasheet for full dimensional data (overall height, hook opening, throat depth, weld preparation requirements). Forged from drop-forged alloy steel and supplied with a forged safety latch and stainless steel return spring.

CE Marked, UKCA Compliant & Fully Traceable

The ASH1 weld-on hook is supplied with documentation including UKCA / CE marking and certification. Every hook has an identification number traceable back to the forging and material origin. Fully compatible with LOLER 1998 (Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations) when correctly welded and load-tested.

Suitable Applications

The ASH1 weld-on hook is suited to light-duty lifting attachment points: big bag frames, light spreader beams, recovery vehicle anchors, custom lifting devices, and applications where a 1-tonne rated weld-on hook is sufficient. For heavier applications, consider the ASHS 3000kg, 5000kg or 8000kg variants.

How to Use the ASH1 Weld-On Hook

  1. Inspect the hook before welding. Check the body, hook opening, safety latch and return spring for damage. Do not use if defects are found.
  2. Select a suitable mounting position on the host structure. The host material must be weldable and rated to carry the load applied through the hook.
  3. Weld the hook to the host structure in accordance with applicable welding standards. No pre-warming required for the ASH1.
  4. Inspect the completed weld for full penetration, absence of cracks, and correct fillet size.
  5. Have a competent person proof-load test the welded hook before placing into service, in accordance with LOLER 1998.
  6. In use, attach the load via a suitable sling, shackle or attachment with the safety latch fully closed.
  7. Do not exceed the rated WLL of 1000kg. Do not side-load.

Important:
Welding of lifting equipment must be carried out by a qualified welder. Proof-load testing by a competent person is required before service.

Inspection and Maintenance

Inspect before every use, including checking the hook body, safety latch, weld and surface coating. Arrange thorough examination by a qualified engineer at least every 6 months when in regular use, in accordance with LOLER 1998. Replace the safety latch when wear is noted.

Warranty & Support

Covered by the Yale manufacturer warranty against defects in material and workmanship.
