More About This Product

Battery charging on site creates two problems at once: the fire risk from lithium-ion cells charging unattended, and the theft risk from batteries and chargers left accessible overnight. This unit addresses both, giving a secure, ventilated enclosure with power distribution built in, so charging happens in one controlled place rather than wherever a socket happens to be free.

Suitable Applications

Charging and secure storage of power tool batteries and equipment on construction sites, in workshops and across depots where tools must be charged and secured overnight. Armorgard specify this unit for lithium-ion battery charging.
Site power is sized on load profile rather than headline capacity — how much is needed, and how much of the time. Where demand varies with long quiet periods, hybrid generators and battery storage cut fuel, noise and emissions.

How to Use the PowerStor PWR1

  1. Position the unit on firm, level ground with access to a suitable power supply.
  2. Connect to site power and check the supply is protected and correctly rated.
  3. Load batteries and chargers into the compartments, keeping ventilation paths clear.
  4. Do not charge damaged or swollen batteries - remove them from service.
  5. Lock the unit when unattended and when charging overnight.
  6. PAT test all electrical components at the intervals required by your site procedures.

Warning:
Never charge damaged, swollen or leaking batteries. Do not cover the unit or obstruct ventilation while charging. All electrical components must be PAT tested at the intervals your site procedures require.

Safety Information

  • Do not charge damaged, swollen or leaking batteries.
  • Keep ventilation paths clear and do not cover the unit while charging.
  • Use only chargers approved for the batteries being charged.
  • PAT test all electrical components at the intervals your site requires.
  • Do not run extension leads from the internal sockets - this can overload the supply.
  • Keep the unit locked when unattended.

Inspection and Maintenance

Inspect regularly for corrosion, impact damage and correct operation of locks and hinges. The unit is built from 1mm and 2mm steel and finished in galvanised and powder coated, which stands up to site conditions but benefits from being kept clean. Replacement keys and spare parts are available from Armorgard against the unit's serial number.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What does the fire resistance rating mean?

Armorgard specify it for lithium-ion battery charging. Siting it outside those conditions may affect both its performance and its warranty.

Q: How many keys are supplied, and can I get more?

The unit comes with 3 keys. Replacement and additional keys are available from Armorgard against the unit's serial number, so keep a record of it.
