The Invicta Combi Tipping Skip (Model ICUS) simplifies the holding, movement and disposal of material in confined areas with its unique 4-way fork entry base. Supplied as manual operation as standard, an optional conversion kit enables automatic tipping at high level — letting the forklift or telehandler driver empty the skip without leaving the seat. Five sizes from 0.5m³ to 1.8m³ feature a low loading height, reinforced leading edge and fully seam-welded construction for fluid retention; manufactured in Leeds by Invicta Forks & Attachments.

Key Features

  • 4-way fork pocket entry — unique base design allows forks to enter from any side for maximum manoeuvrability in confined spaces
  • Low loading height — easy to fill by hand or from conveyors without excessive lifting
  • Secondary locking mechanism — prevents accidental discharge during transport
  • Fully seam welded — retains fluids and prevents leakage of wet waste
  • Manual handle override — manual tipping available on all models as standard
  • Reinforced leading edge and body sides — heavy-duty construction for long service life

More About This Product

The Invicta Combi Tipping Skip (Model ICUS) is designed to simplify the holding, movement and disposal of material in confined areas with the unique 4-way fork entry base. The skip is supplied as manual operation as standard, but automatic tipping at high level can be achieved by ordering the optional conversion kit — allowing the forklift or telehandler driver to empty the skip without leaving the safety of his seat. Available in five sizes from 0.5m³ to 1.8m³, with a low loading height, reinforced leading edge and fully seam-welded construction for fluid retention. Manufactured in Leeds by Invicta Forks & Attachments.

Suitable Applications

The ICUS is ideal for manufacturing facilities, workshops, construction sites and any environment where waste needs to be collected in tight spaces and tipped into larger containers. The 4-way entry makes it particularly useful in narrow aisles, between machinery and in areas where approach direction is limited. Common uses include metal swarf collection, general production waste, packaging disposal and construction site waste management.

How to Use the Combi Tipping Skip

  1. Position forks the correct distance apart to locate into fork pockets.
  2. Remove fork pocket heel pins from the skip.
  3. Drive forks into the fork pockets and insert heel pins behind the heel of the fork.
  4. Transport to the tipping area and release the secondary lock mechanism on the rear.
  5. For manual tipping: pull the release handle to tip the skip. For auto tipping: position the actuator plate over the yard skip side, lower to activate the release, then lift to clear.
  6. Once emptying is complete, pull the skip back to re-latch onto the hook.
  7. Replace the safety lock mechanism. The skip is now ready for reuse.

Warning:
Ensure the secondary lock mechanism is engaged during transport and disengaged only when emptying is required. Do not empty the skip whilst the forks are in the side entry pockets as this could unbalance the fork truck.

Safety Information

  • Ensure heel pins are correctly inserted before every use.
  • Engage the secondary lock mechanism during transport.
  • Operators must keep clear of the mechanism whilst in operation.
  • Do not shock load the skip under any circumstances.
  • Do not empty with forks in the side entry pockets — this could unbalance the truck.
  • Ensure the skip lid is closed (if fitted) prior to each emptying cycle.

Inspection and Maintenance

Inspect weekly with particular attention to all weld points, fork pockets, locks, latches, rockers and roller guides. Keep pivot bars, latches and locks greased. Oil springs regularly. Certified for six months from manufacture.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What is the difference between manual and automatic operation?

All ICUS skips are supplied with manual operation as standard — you pull a release handle to tip. The optional conversion kit adds an automatic tipping mechanism that operates when the actuator plate contacts the yard skip, so the driver doesn't need to leave their seat.

Q: Can I add castors to the skip?

Yes. 125mm diameter nylon castors are available as an optional extra, making the skip easy to reposition manually around the workshop or yard.

Q: Can I get a lid?

Yes. A hinged lid is available as an optional extra. Ensure the lid is closed during every emptying cycle to prevent damage to the hinge mechanism.
