Suitable Applications

Pesticide and Agrochemical Cupboards suit farms, estates, greenkeeping, horticulture, groundscare and industrial sites wherever pesticides, herbicides and agrochemicals must be stored securely, ventilated and segregated. The ventilated perforated doors, integral sump and lockable design support the control measures expected for safe pesticide storage and your COSHH risk assessment. For a higher level of security, this range is also available as fully welded Pesticide & Agrochemical Security Cupboards with full-length piano hinges and a seven-lever anti-pick safe lock.
At this size the Security version of this cabinet adds a seven-lever anti-pick lock where the contents justify it; other substance types are covered by the COSHH storage range.

How to Use the Pesticide and Agrochemical Cupboard

  1. Site the cupboard on a firm, level floor in a well-ventilated area, away from heat, ignition sources, foodstuffs and incompatible materials.
  2. Adjust the galvanised shelves to suit your containers, ensuring each shelf is fully seated on its supports.
  3. Store products in their original, correctly labelled containers and never exceed the 70kg uniformly distributed load per shelf.
  4. Keep incompatible substances segregated and store only the quantities permitted by your risk assessment.
  5. Affix the supplied warning labels so the contents are clearly identifiable.
  6. Lock the cupboard after every use and restrict key access to authorised, trained personnel only.

Warning:
Pesticides and agrochemicals are hazardous substances. Always consult the safety data sheet (SDS) and product label before storage, keep them away from foodstuffs and ignition sources, never store incompatible products together, and observe the quantities permitted by your risk assessment.

Safety Information

  • Carry out a COSHH risk assessment before storing pesticides or agrochemicals and follow the control measures it identifies.
  • Store products in their original, correctly labelled containers with the lids secure.
  • Keep the cupboard in a well-ventilated area, away from foodstuffs, water courses, heat and ignition sources.
  • Keep incompatible substances segregated.
  • Provide and use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and have suitable spill absorbents to hand.
  • Keep the cupboard locked when not in use and limit key access to trained, authorised personnel.

Inspection and Maintenance

Clean the paintwork periodically with warm soapy water or a foaming cleaner. Oil the hinges and lock sparingly as required with a light oil (3-in-1 or similar). Where a sump is fitted, inspect it regularly and clean out any spillage promptly using a suitable absorbent. Check that warning labels remain legible and replace them if damaged. Replacement locks and spare keys are available on request.
