Steerman LFL-1-2 Steerable-Wheel Load Moving Skate, 1000kg Capacity

Model LFL-1-2 | Two steerable + two fixed wheels | 1000kg (1t) | 75 ร— 46 mm Swivel + 100 ร— 35 mm Fixed | 13kg | Solid Forged Steel

The Steerman LFL-1-2 is the 1000kg steerable-wheel load moving skate from the Steerman LFL range โ€” the steerable counterpart to the fixed-wheel LF range, with the same solid forged steel construction and abrasion-resistant nylon wheels plus steerable swivel castors for directional control. Two steerable and two fixed wheels let the load be guided through the move rather than only rolled in a straight line, with an anti-slip rubber lining on the top platform for secure contact. Overall dimensions 430 ร— 340 ร— 120 mm, weight 13kg; maintenance-free in normal use.

Key Features

  • Steerable wheels for directional control โ€” two steerable + two fixed wheels let the load be guided around obstacles and into position, not only rolled straight
  • Solid forged steel construction โ€” robust frame designed for repeated use
  • Anti-slip rubber lining on top platform โ€” keeps the load stable in contact with the skate
  • Abrasion-resistant nylon wheels โ€” protect finished floor surfaces; low rolling resistance under load
  • Maintenance-free โ€” no scheduled servicing in normal use
  • Counterpart to the LF fixed-wheel range โ€” universally combinable with LF skates of matching 1000kg capacity to build a complete load moving system
  • 1000kg capacity per skate โ€” for medium-weight industrial loads requiring directional control
  • Compact at 430 ร— 340 ร— 120 mm โ€” fits into typical workshop spaces; 13kg per skate

More About This Product

The Steerman LFL-1-2 is the 1000kg steerable-wheel load moving skate from the Steerman LFL range. The LFL range is the steerable counterpart to the fixed-wheel LF range โ€” same solid forged steel construction and abrasion-resistant nylon wheels, with the addition of steerable swivel castors for directional control. The LFL-1-2 uses two steerable + two fixed wheels, allowing the load to be guided through the move rather than only rolled in a straight line. The top platform has an anti-slip rubber lining for secure load contact. Overall dimensions 430 ร— 340 ร— 120 mm; weight 13kg. Maintenance-free in normal use.

Suitable Applications

The LFL-1-2 suits workshops, installation work, panel handling, electrical and tooling positioning โ€” anywhere a 1000kg or lighter load needs to be moved with full directional control over smooth flat surfaces. Combine multiple LFL skates, or mix with fixed-wheel LF units of matching capacity, to build a system where some skates steer and others run straight. For heavier loads (above 1t per skate) the LF and SX/S ranges offer higher capacities.

How to Use the LFL-1-2

  1. Confirm the load is within the 1000kg per-skate capacity (or build a multi-skate setup distributing the load across several contact points).
  2. Survey the route โ€” smooth, flat, free of debris.
  3. Position each skate under the load using a rated jacking method (toe jack or RPB roller pinch bar).
  4. Lower the load onto the anti-slip rubber platform and confirm stable contact.
  5. Move the load by pushing or pulling โ€” the steerable wheels follow the direction of force, allowing you to guide the move.
  6. Use spotters to confirm even rolling and correct directional control.
  7. Bring to a controlled stop and re-jack to remove the skates.

Warning:
Do not exceed the 1000kg rated capacity per skate. Steerable wheels need a smooth flat surface โ€” debris or rough surfaces can lock the swivel.

Safety Information

  • Confirm each skate's capacity is sufficient for its share of the load.
  • Inspect each skate before use โ€” castor swivel free movement, wheel nylon condition, frame integrity.
  • Confirm the anti-slip rubber lining is clean and intact.
  • Keep personnel clear of the rolling path.
  • Use spotters for multi-skate setups.

Inspection and Maintenance

Maintenance-free in normal use. Inspect weekly with attention to castor swivel free movement, wheel nylon condition, frame integrity and the anti-slip rubber lining.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What's the difference between LFL and LF?

LF has fixed wheels and rolls straight only. LFL has steerable swivel castor wheels for directional control. Both share the same solid forged steel construction, anti-slip rubber lining and nylon wheels; LFL adds the swivel mechanism. Choose LFL where you need to guide the load; choose LF for fixed-line moves.

Q: What's the difference between the LFL-1-2 and the LFL-1-4?

The LFL-1-2 has two steerable swivel wheels (75ร—46mm) and two fixed wheels (100ร—35mm) โ€” a stable configuration where the load tracks straight under load but can be steered when initiating direction changes. The LFL-1-4 has four steerable wheels (75ร—46mm) for full multi-directional control, useful for tighter positioning work but less stable under straight-line motion.

Q: Can I combine the LFL-1-2 with LF fixed-wheel skates?

Yes โ€” LFL and LF units are universally combinable so long as the capacities match. A common setup uses LFL units at the front (or one corner) to steer, with LF units providing the stable rear support.

Q: How heavy is the LFL-1-2?

The LFL-1-2 weighs 13kg per skate. The added weight versus the LF range reflects the swivel castor mechanism and the slightly larger frame (430 ร— 340 ร— 120 mm).
