Yale Fall Arrest Webbing Block 6m CMHWR100-06

Model CMHWR100-06 | Self-Retracting Webbing Block | 6m Webbing | 17mm Webbing Width | 140kg WLL | EN 360 Compliant

The Yale CMHWR100-06 is a self-retracting fall arrester with 6 m of webbing instead of the steel cable found on the CMHCR series cable blocks โ€” a lighter, lower-profile alternative in the same length range, with a rated user weight up to 140 kg. It suits general fall arrest applications including roofing, scaffold inspection and building maintenance where 6 m of working radius is sufficient. Manufactured by Columbus McKinnon under the Yale brand, supplied with test certificate and operating manual.

Key Features

  • 6 m webbing โ€” lighter than an equivalent cable block, lower profile
  • 17 mm webbing width โ€” compact webbing while still providing required fall arrest strength
  • 140 kg user weight rating โ€” covers a wide range of users including heavy PPE and tools
  • Self-retracting โ€” automatically maintains a taut connection
  • Speed-sensitive brake โ€” locks within centimetres in a fall event
  • EN 360 compliant โ€” rated to BS EN 360 for self-retracting fall arresters
  • Robust housing โ€” impact-resistant for daily site use

CMCO Group | EN ISO 9001 Certified | EN 360 Compliant | CE Marked

This product is manufactured by Columbus McKinnon under the Yale lifting brand to EN ISO 9001 quality management standards. Compliant with BS EN 360 for retractable type fall arresters. Supplied with a manufacturer's test certificate and CE Declaration of Conformity. PPE Regulation (EU) 2016/425 Category III. Work at Height Regulations 2005 require thorough examinations every 6 months by a competent person, with records kept.

Suitable Applications

Suited to general construction site fall arrest at heights requiring up to 6 m of working radius โ€” roofing access, scaffold inspection, building maintenance, plant access. Where steel cable is preferred for abrasion resistance, see the equivalent length Yale Fall Arrest Cable Block (CMHCR250v06-2).

How to Use the 6m Webbing Block

  1. Inspect the housing, webbing, swivel hook, anchor connector, and load indicator before each use.
  2. Function-test by extending the webbing approximately 1 m and allowing it to retract.
  3. Function-test the brake by sharply tugging the webbing.
  4. Attach the block to a certified overhead anchor rated to a minimum of 12 kN.
  5. Attach the swivel snap hook to the harness rear D-ring. Verify the gate is fully closed and locked.
  6. Verify fall clearance below the working position.
  7. Proceed with the working task. The block automatically maintains a taut connection.
  8. On completion, allow the webbing to retract fully and disconnect.

Warning:
After any fall arrest the block must be withdrawn from service. The block must be anchored overhead. The 140 kg user weight rating must not be exceeded.

Safety Information

  • Carry out a pre-use visual and function test before every use โ€” extend the lanyard fully, verify retraction, and check the brake by sharply tugging the line.
  • Always attach the block to a certified overhead anchor rated to a minimum of 12 kN.
  • Always check the housing, lanyard, swivel hook, and anchor connector before each use.
  • Always position the anchor directly above the user where possible to prevent pendulum swing in the event of a fall.
  • Never use a block that has arrested a fall โ€” withdraw from service immediately and return for competent person inspection.
  • Never modify or attempt to repair the block; only authorised service centres can service these units.
  • Withdraw from service if any damage to the housing, lanyard, hooks, or load indicator is found.

Inspection and Maintenance

Inspect the block before each use, paying particular attention to the housing for cracks or impact damage, the lanyard for cuts, fraying, or chemical damage, the load indicator (where fitted) for any sign of deployment, and both connectors for distortion or damage. Function-test by extending the lanyard fully and allowing it to retract under tension โ€” the retraction should be smooth and complete. Test the brake by sharply tugging the line โ€” the brake must lock immediately. Store hanging by the anchor hook in a clean, dry location away from direct sunlight, sharp objects, and chemicals. Do not store the block with the lanyard extended. Under the Work at Height Regulations 2005 and PPE Regulations, a thorough examination must be carried out by a competent person at least every 6 months. Manufacturer-recommended internal service interval is typically every 2 years โ€” refer to the operating manual for the specific service requirements of your model.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How does the 6m webbing block compare to a 6m cable block?

The webbing block is lighter and lower profile. The cable block offers better abrasion resistance for environments with rough edges or sharp surfaces. Choose based on the working environment.

Q: What is the user weight limit?

140 kg including PPE, tools, and any other equipment carried.

Q: How much fall clearance do I need?

Typically 2 m to 3 m below the working position.

Q: Can the block be used outdoors?

Yes. The webbing is UV-stable for outdoor use.

Q: How often must the block be serviced?

Pre-use inspection, thorough examination by a competent person every 6 months, manufacturer-recommended internal service typically every 2 years.

Q: Is the webbing replaceable?

Service operation requiring an authorised service centre.
