Project Overview

WOLFF Onsite is proud to have supported VINCI Building in delivering a cleaner, quieter and more efficient power solution at the Royal Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital (SaTH) development. With sustainability high on the agenda, the Enertainer battery energy storage system (BESS) was chosen to power two tower cranes with a total of 460kVA power requirement.

The Challenge

As the project team began shaping the delivery strategy alongside key supply chain partners, the idea of integrating an Enertainer was raised. On a hospital site, noise and emissions are particularly sensitive issues. The team needed a power solution that could offer strong environmental performance without compromising reliability, and that’s exactly what the Enertainer delivered.

The Solution

After conducting in-depth research and visiting an Enertainer in action, VINCI Building carried out a cost-benefit analysis. The results were clear, not only did the Enertainer offer significant fuel and cost savings, it also brought the added benefit of lower noise levels and fewer fuel deliveries.

While the site was being prepared an Enertainer provided by WOLFF Onsite, was paired with a small temporary generator before later moving onto a grid connection. Thanks to the Enernet platform, remote monitoring and real-time performance insights allowed the site team to track usage, receive notifications, and observe live status updates. Even over the Christmas period when aviation lighting remained powered seamlessly.

The Outcome

Since being deployed, the Enertainer has proven to be a clean, quiet, and highly reliable solution. Its ability to manage peak loads and support two tower cranes has reduced operational complexity while helping VINCI Building meet both financial and environmental targets.

WOLFF Onsite is proud to have contributed to a project that not only supports essential healthcare infrastructure but also demonstrates the real-world impact of sustainable

"All in all, it is a very good piece of kit...clean, reliable and cost effective. The Enertainer clearly gave us the financial savings on the fuel, the benefits of noise and less fuel deliveries."
