More About This Product
The Armorgard CuttingStation SS7-240 is a mobile cutting workstation that eliminates the need for a separate cutting room on site. This innovative unit combines a safe, enclosed cutting platform with secure tool storage, integrated 240V power and lighting, and fire-rated sound-deadening foam that significantly reduces noise pollution. Independent testing has shown the CuttingStation can reduce noise exposure by up to 19dB, extending the time to reach the Lower Noise Exposure Action Value from under 10 minutes to over 8 hours of continuous operation. The extendable back panel accommodates mitre saws and metal cut-off saws, while four-configuration support arms provide flexibility for cutting conduit, timber, cable tray, pipe, and other materials safely at working height.
Suitable Applications
The CuttingStation SS7-240 is designed for mechanical and electrical contractors, fit-out specialists, and any trade requiring safe, controlled cutting of materials on site. Suitable materials include conduit, timber, cable tray, pipe, studding, and steel channel. The unit eliminates the need for makeshift cutting areas, providing an instant cutting room that can be positioned wherever work is taking place. The 240V power supply makes it ideal for workshops, factories, and sites with standard UK mains power.
Containment reduces spread but does not replace extraction and respiratory protection where dust is generated. See also site workbenches.
How to Use the CuttingStation SS7-240
- Position the CuttingStation on level ground and apply both castor brakes before cutting.
- Connect the 240V power inlet on the rear right corner to a suitable power supply.
- Extend the back panel if needed by lifting the handles on either side of the swarf collector and pushing outward. The handles drop down to lock in position.
- Configure the support arms as required: loosen the two locking screws to slide arms in/out and up/down. Rotate the arm head for flat rest, V-shaped holder, or roller configuration.
- Turn on the work light using the switch inside the top right corner of the cabinet.
- Mount your cutting tool on the work surface and plug into the internal 240V sockets.
- Position materials on the rubber mat and support arms. Cut safely at working height with PVC curtains containing sparks.
- Collect swarf using a bucket beneath the chute, or connect an M/H-rated dust extractor to the swarf collector.
- When finished, lock the cabinet with the 5-lever deadlock to secure your tools.
Warning:
All relevant PPE must be worn. Apply both brakes whilst cutting. Do not use a dust extraction system whilst cutting aluminium. All electrical parts must be PAT tested at least every 3 months. Relevant fire extinguishers must be nearby whilst cutting. Take care when moving the rear panel as it presents a finger trap hazard.
Safety Information
- All relevant PPE must be worn when operating cutting equipment.
- Apply both castor brakes before commencing any cutting operation.
- Do not use a dust extraction system whilst cutting aluminium - this presents a fire/explosion risk.
- All electrical parts must be PAT tested at least every 3 months.
- Relevant fire extinguishers must be kept nearby whilst cutting.
- Take care when moving the rear panel as it can present a finger trap hazard.
- Do not plug extension leads into the sockets provided - this could cause the electricity unit to overheat.
- Ensure all sockets are undamaged and free from water, dirt, oil, and foreign objects before use.
- Do not extend support arms further than 800mm from the main unit.
Inspection and Maintenance
The CuttingStation is constructed from 1.5mm steel with a powder-coated finish and anti-corrosive undercoat, making it suitable for site conditions. Regularly empty the swarf collector and clean debris from the work surface. The PVC curtains, rubber mat, fire-rated foam, and electrical components are all available as replacement parts. All electrical components must be PAT tested at least every 3 months to maintain safety compliance.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: How much does the CuttingStation reduce noise levels?
Independent testing showed the CuttingStation can reduce noise by up to 19dB at 1 metre from the cutting tool. This extends the time to reach the 80dB Lower Noise Exposure Action Value from under 10 minutes to over 8 hours of continuous cutting, significantly improving workplace noise exposure compliance.
Q: What materials can I cut in the CuttingStation?
The CuttingStation is suitable for cutting conduit, timber, cable tray, pipe, studding, steel channel, and similar materials. The extendable back panel and four-configuration support arms provide flexibility for different material sizes and lengths.
Q: Does the CuttingStation come with dust extraction?
The standard SS7-240 includes a swarf collector with a dust extractor connection point, but does not include an extraction unit. For integrated extraction, consider the CuttingStation Xtract SS7X-240 which includes the Husqvarna Aircube filtration system.
Q: How do I configure the support arms?
Loosen the two locking screws on each support arm to slide them in/out and up/down. The arm head can be rotated 90 degrees to provide a flat rest, V-shaped holder for round materials, or a roller for repositioning materials. Do not extend arms further than 800mm from the main unit.
Q: Can the CuttingStation be moved around site?
Yes. The CuttingStation features heavy-duty 6" rubberised swivel castors (2 with brakes) for easy movement. Forklift pockets are also integrated for crane or forklift positioning.
