Invicta Automatic Bottom Empty Skip

The Invicta Automatic Bottom Empty Skip (Model IBE) allows the simple but effective disposal of light to medium weight waste by automatically emptying into high-sided yard skips via the base release mechanism — all without the driver leaving the safety of his seat. The unique automatic releasing and locking mechanism operates when the actuator plates on the rear of the skip base make contact with the side of the yard skip, opening the drop-bottom door to discharge the contents.

Invicta Automatic Bottom Empty Skip

Model IBE | Automatic Base Release | Fork Mounted | Up to 1.45m³ Capacity | UK Manufactured

*Add 270mm to height to give overall skip height. Maximum fork section 150 x 50mm at 683mm centres.

Key Features

  • Automatic release mechanism — skip empties automatically when actuator plates contact the yard skip — no manual operation required
  • 125mm nylon castor — fitted as standard for easy manual repositioning around the yard or site
  • Internally reinforced sides — double-skin reinforcement and lap welded corners for heavy-duty durability
  • Secondary locking mechanism — prevents accidental discharge during transport
  • Fully seam welded — retains fluids and fine waste without leakage
  • Secure fork attachment — zinc plated heel pins for safe attachment to the forklift truck

Suitable Applications

The IBE is ideal for manufacturing facilities, distribution centres, recycling operations and construction sites where regular waste disposal into large yard skips is required. Common uses include disposing of packaging waste, production offcuts, general site waste and light demolition debris. The automatic operation eliminates the need for operatives to manually tip skips at height.

How to Use the Automatic Bottom Empty Skip

  1. Position the forks the correct distance apart to locate into fork pockets.
  2. Remove fork pocket heel pins from the skip.
  3. Drive forks into the fork pockets.
  4. Insert fork pocket heel pins directly behind the heel of the fork and attach safety lynch pin.
  5. Transport the skip to the yard skip and position the actuator plates over the side of the yard skip.
  6. With the mast vertical, lower the actuator plates onto the side of the yard skip to activate the release hooks.
  7. Keeping the mast vertical, lift the carriage so the drop-bottom door clears the side of the yard skip, then reverse clear.
  8. Lower the skip to the ground to automatically re-latch the drop-bottom door.

Warning: Operators must keep clear of the mechanism during operation. Do not shock load the skip. In the event of failure during operation, return the skip safely to floor level before attempting any rectification.

Safety Information

  • Ensure the operator is fully conversant with the attachment before use.
  • Ensure heel pins are correctly inserted and positioned behind the heel of the fork before every use.
  • Operators must keep clear of the mechanism during operation.
  • Do not shock load the skip under any circumstances.
  • Ensure both release hooks are engaged before each operation.
  • In the event of failure, return the skip to floor level for inspection — do not attempt repair at height.

Inspection and Maintenance

Inspect weekly with particular attention to all weld points, fork pockets, heel pin attachments, lock latches and spring wear. Keep pivot bars, latches and locks greased. Oil springs regularly. Certified for six months from manufacture.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How does the automatic emptying work?

The actuator plates on the rear of the skip make contact with the top edge of the yard skip. As you lower, the plates push down on the release hooks, unlatching the drop-bottom door. The contents discharge through the base and the door re-latches automatically when lowered back to ground level.

Q: Can I get the skip in a different colour?

Yes. Custom colour finishes are available as an optional extra, which is useful for waste separation or departmental identification.
