Yale RPYS-1215 Hydraulic Test Rig

Max Capacity 12 Tonnes | For Testing Hoisting Equipment | With Mounted HPS-2/0.7 A Pump and YCS-21/150 Cylinder

The Yale RPYS-1215 is a hydraulic test rig with maximum capacity of 12 tonnes, designed for testing pul-lifts, lever hoists, chain blocks, wire rope pullers and other lifting equipment after repair or inspection. Yale supplies the test rig complete and ready to use with a mounted HPS-2/0.7 A two-stage hand pump and YCS-21/150 hollow cylinder.

Workshop test rig for lifting equipment after repair or inspection

Yale documentation describes the test rig operation: the lifting unit is placed between upper and lower shackle, the chain is tensioned against the oil cushion of the partly-advanced piston of the hydraulic cylinder, and the applied force is read on the pressure gauge. For brake testing, the hand pump may be used to apply a counter pressure and thus increase the pulling force after a general test. Yale notes that for frequent testing, the hand pump may be replaced by a low-cost air hydraulic (PAY-6) or electric pump (PY-04/2/5/2 M).

Suitable Applications

Per Yale: testing pul-lifts, lever hoists, chain blocks, wire rope pullers and other lifting equipment after repair or inspection. Includes testing of the hoist brake functionality.

Key Features

  • 12 Tonnes Max Capacity: Yale standard.
  • Mounted HPS-2/0.7 A Hand Pump: two-stage, 0-400 bar, 0.7 L reservoir, fine-adjustment pressure relief valve.
  • Mounted YCS-21/150 Hollow Cylinder: chromium-molybdenum steel heat-treated with bronze bearings, 120 kN (12 t) pressure/pulling force, 27 mm centre hole, 150 mm stroke.
  • Two Pressure Gauges: GGY-1005 (0-160 bar, 100 mm, class 1.0%) for small test items; GGY-1003 (0-400 bar, 100 mm, class 1.0%) for big test items.
  • Quick-Couplers for Gauges: easy replacement.
  • Fully Welded Low-Strain Press-Frame: Yale-specified construction.
  • Upper and Lower Hook Suspension by Shackles: incl. two 5 tonnes pull-rings for smaller test units.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What can the RPYS test?

Yale specifies pul-lifts, lever hoists, chain blocks, wire rope pullers and other lifting equipment after repair or inspection.

Q: How does brake testing work?

Yale documents: for a functional test of the hoist brake, the hand pump may be used to apply a counter pressure and thus increase the pulling force after a general test.

Q: Can I replace the hand pump?

Yes. Yale notes that for frequent testing, the hand pump may be replaced by a low-cost air hydraulic pump (PAY-6) or electric pump (PY-04/2/5/2 M).

Q: Are pull-rings supplied for smaller items?

Yes. Yale specifies upper and lower hook suspension by shackles, including two 5 tonnes pull-rings for smaller test units.

Q: Can the lower suspension be removed?

Yes. Yale specifies the lower suspension is removable - e.g. for testing of plate clamps.
