Conquip Cranelift Builders Skip

Heavy-duty 8 yard skip with crane lifting points for storing and transporting site waste, muck and materials

The Conquip Cranelift Builders Skip is a large 8 yard skip designed for storing and transporting general waste, muck and materials around site. Manufactured from quality steel with crane lifting points and reinforced construction, it is built to withstand demanding site conditions and can be emptied using any standard skip lorry.

Key Features

  • Robust steel construction designed for tough site conditions and a long service life.
  • Fully compliant crane lifting points for moving the skip around site by tower or mobile crane.
  • Hooks included for attaching a debris cover to reduce dust pollution during lifting.
  • Compatible with any standard skip lorry for off-site emptying.
  • Fully rated and certified to the stated working load limit.

Suitable Applications

The Cranelift Builders Skip suits larger construction, demolition, refurbishment and infrastructure sites where general waste and muck need to be stored and moved between site levels by crane, then collected by a standard skip lorry. The 8 yard capacity covers higher waste volumes than crane-only muck skips, while the lifting points allow the skip to be repositioned around site rather than left in a fixed location.

How to Use

  1. Position the skip in a stable, level location with clear access for loading.
  2. Load the skip evenly with general waste, muck or building materials within the working load limit.
  3. Attach a debris cover via the supplied hooks if dust suppression is required during lifting.
  4. Attach the crane to all lifting points using suitably rated chains or slings.
  5. The slinger and banksman confirm the lift is balanced and guide it to the new location.
  6. Lower the skip to the ground at the new location and disconnect the lifting equipment.
  7. For off-site emptying, position the skip for collection by a standard skip lorry.

Warning: The Cranelift Builders Skip is large and the loaded weight is significant. Confirm crane capacity at the working radius before any lift. Do not exceed the published working load limit. Always use a trained slinger and banksman.

Safety Information

  • Inspect the skip body, lifting points, shackles and chains before each lift.
  • The crane operator, slinger and banksman must hold appropriate certification.
  • Confirm crane capacity at the lift radius before any lift.
  • Use chains or slings rated above the loaded weight, attached to all lifting points.
  • Keep ground personnel clear of the lift path during transport.
  • Do not exceed the published working load limit of 6400 kg.
  • Use a debris cover where airborne dust during lifting is a concern.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Can the skip be emptied off-site?

Yes. The Cranelift Builders Skip is sized to be collected and emptied using any standard skip lorry, so off-site disposal works the same way as a conventional builders skip.

Q: What size is this skip?

It is an 8 yard³ capacity skip, measuring 3637 mm long by 1911 mm wide by 1400 mm tall. Weight empty is 840 kg with a working load limit of 6400 kg.

Q: Why use a Cranelift Builders Skip rather than a standard builders skip?

The crane lifting points let you move the skip around site by crane rather than only by skip lorry. This is useful on multi-level sites or where access is restricted, and lets you keep waste flowing without waiting for skip exchanges.

Q: Can I add a debris cover?

Yes. Hooks are included for attaching a debris cover to reduce dust pollution and prevent material loss during lifting.
