Eichinger Crane & Forklift Tipping Skip

Model 2013C.12 | 1,200 Litres | Crane Liftable with Top Lifting Lugs | Four-Way Fork Entry | Automatic Roller Tipping | CE Marked | UKCA Compliant

The Eichinger Crane and Forklift Tipping Skip (Model 2013C.12) is a heavy-duty 1,200-litre tipping skip fitted with four certified top lifting lugs for crane operations, in addition to standard forklift fork pockets. The skip features a rectangular shape with 3mm sheet steel edge-profile surround, oil-tight and water-tight welded joins. The roller tipping system with automatic release allows the skip to be tipped in any position by cable pull from the driver's seat, with a built-in safeguard against inadvertent slipping and tipping. The sturdy base frame features four-way fork pocket entry, allowing the skip to be positioned from the front, rear, left or right โ€” providing maximum versatility for handling on congested sites. Fixed heel pins with a teardrop safety catch keep the skip secure on the forks during transport.

CE Marked, UKCA Compliant & BG Safety Approved

This product carries CE marking in accordance with EU Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC, and a UKCA certificate is also provided where required for the UK market. The skip is designed and manufactured to the occupational health and safety standards of the German Berufsgenossenschaften (BG). Manufactured under DIN ISO 9001:2015 quality management. An EC Declaration of Conformity is supplied with every unit as standard.

Technical Specifications

Model Capacity (Litres) Fork Entry Crane Lugs Tipping System
2013C.12 1,200 Four-way 4 x top lifting lugs (tested & certified) Roller with cable pull, auto-lock

Key Features

  • Crane and forklift compatible โ€” four certified top lifting lugs for crane operations, plus four-way fork pocket entry for forklift and telehandler use
  • Roller tipping system โ€” automatic release mechanism allows the skip to be tipped from the driver's seat by cable pull, with a catching mechanism that limits tipping to approximately 90ยฐ to prevent damage
  • Anti-slip safeguard โ€” built-in protection against inadvertent slipping and tipping during transport
  • Four-way fork entry โ€” the skip can be picked up from the front, rear, left or right side, maximising positioning flexibility on congested sites
  • Fixed heel pins with teardrop catch โ€” secure the skip to the forklift forks without the need for additional safety chains
  • Oil-tight and water-tight welded construction โ€” 3mm sheet steel with edge-profile surround for maximum durability and leak-free operation

Suitable Applications

The 2013C.12 Crane and Forklift Tipping Skip is designed for construction sites, engineering factories, farms and yards where waste materials, rubble, soil, scrap or other loose materials need to be collected, transported and tipped efficiently. The crane lugs make it ideal for multi-storey construction where waste needs to be lifted down from upper floors by tower crane. The four-way fork entry provides maximum flexibility for positioning the skip in tight spaces. Hire companies favour the 2013C range for its versatility across both crane and forklift operations.

How to Use the Crane & Forklift Tipping Skip

  1. Place the skip on a flat, level surface before filling. Do not exceed the rated payload.
  2. Fill the skip evenly, ensuring the load does not exceed the height of the sides.
  3. For forklift transport, insert forks fully into the fork pockets from any of the four entry points. Ensure the heel pins engage and the teardrop safety catch is locked.
  4. For crane lifting, attach a suitably rated 4-leg chain sling to the four top lifting lugs. Ensure all hooks are fully closed and secure.
  5. Transport the skip to the tipping point. Ensure the area is clear of personnel before tipping.
  6. To tip by forklift, pull the cable from the driver's seat to release the roller mechanism. The skip will tip automatically to approximately 90ยฐ.
  7. When the skip is set down upright, the roller mechanism locks again automatically.
  8. Clean the skip after use to prevent material build-up around the roller mechanism.

Certification and Compliance

This product is CE marked and supplied with a full EC Declaration of Conformity in accordance with the EU Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC. A UKCA certificate is also provided where required for the Great Britain market. The skip is manufactured under a DIN ISO 9001:2015 certified quality management system. All lifting equipment used on UK construction sites must comply with the Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations 1998 (LOLER) and the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998 (PUWER).

Safety Information

  • Never exceed the rated payload capacity.
  • Ensure the heel pins and teardrop safety catch are fully engaged before transporting by forklift.
  • Clear the tipping area of all personnel before releasing the roller mechanism.
  • When crane lifting, inspect all four top lifting lugs and chain sling connections before each lift.
  • Do not stand under or near the skip during crane operations.
  • A risk assessment must be carried out prior to moving or using this equipment.
  • Operation only by persons who are familiar with the equipment and have read the operating instructions.
  • Required PPE: hard hat, safety boots, gloves, and hi-vis vest.
  • The type plate must remain present and legible at all times.

Inspection and Maintenance

The tipping skip must be inspected before each use and undergo a thorough examination at least every 12 months by a competent person in accordance with LOLER 1998. All inspections must be documented. Pay particular attention to the top lifting lugs, roller tipping mechanism, cable pull, heel pins, teardrop safety catch, and welded seams. Check for signs of corrosion, weld cracking or deformation. Clean the roller mechanism regularly to ensure smooth and reliable operation.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What makes the 2013C different from the standard 2013?

The 2013C model adds four certified top lifting lugs to the standard 2013 tipping skip, making it suitable for crane lifting as well as forklift use. The standard 2013 is forklift-only. The "C" designation indicates the crane-liftable version.

Q: Can the skip be picked up from any direction?

Yes, the 2013C.12 features four-way fork pocket entry, allowing it to be picked up from the front, rear, left side or right side. This provides maximum flexibility for positioning on congested construction sites.

Q: How does the tipping mechanism work?

The skip uses a roller tipping system with automatic release. The operator pulls a cable from the forklift driver's seat to release the mechanism. The skip tips forward automatically to approximately 90ยฐ, with a catching mechanism that limits the angle to prevent damage. When set back down upright, the mechanism re-locks automatically.

Q: What other sizes are available?

The 2013C range is available in 500-litre, 1,200-litre and 1,500-litre capacities. All models feature the same crane-liftable design with top lifting lugs and four-way fork entry. Contact WOLFF Onsite for availability and pricing.
