How to Use the Auto-Lok Tipping Skip

1. Position the forks the correct distance apart to locate into the fork pockets.
2. Drive the forks into the fork pockets until they are fully inserted.
3. Elevate the skip clear of the ground to fully engage the Auto-Lok mechanism.
4. Take the skip to the intended area to be emptied.
5. Using the telehandler controls, tilt the forks forward until the contents of the skip begin to discharge.
6. Once fully discharged, return the forks back to a minimum of a horizontal position.
7. Place the skip onto a solid, level surface to fully disengage the Auto-Lok mechanism, then retract the forks.
8. The skip is now ready for use again.

Warning:
Never exceed the 2,000kg rated Safe Working Load. Do not empty the skip whilst the forks are in the side entry pockets — this could unbalance the fork truck. Do not transport the skip around site in the discharged position, and never attempt rectification or re-operation while the skip is elevated. In the event of a failure, return the skip safely to floor level before inspection.

Certification and Compliance

The Auto-Lok Tipping Skip is manufactured in the UK by Invicta Forks & Attachments in accordance with EU Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC. A test certificate and EC Declaration of Conformity are supplied with every unit as standard. The skip is certified for six (6) months from the date of manufacture, after which it is the customer's responsibility to have the product re-tested at an approved testing facility or inspected and logged in a register by a competent person as advised by the HSE. All lifting equipment used on UK construction sites must comply with the Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations 1998 (LOLER) and the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998 (PUWER). Thorough examinations under LOLER must be carried out every 6 months by a competent person and the results recorded in writing.

• The manager of the department or section where the attachment is used must ensure operators are fully conversant with the attachment, its operation and its maintenance.

• The type plate must remain present and legible at all times. If defects are found, the equipment must not be used until rectified.

Inspection and Maintenance

The skip must be inspected before each use and again on a weekly basis, with particular attention paid to all weld points, wear and distortion of the fork pockets and heel pin attachments, any damaged components, and the locks, latches and springs of the Auto-Lok mechanism. Any damage or failure must be reported and rectified immediately before the skip is returned to service. Ensure the damper and locking mechanism are in full working order and free from debris. Treat surface rusting — especially around critical areas — with proprietary inhibitors, primers and paint on a regular basis. A thorough examination by a competent person under LOLER 1998 must be carried out every 6 months and the results recorded in writing.
